We love our dogs, they are more than pets; they are our constant companions, our furry children who listen 90% of the time, lol. Oh, they also are not allowed to eat the same food we do, while we are eating our chicken and veggies they are eating Purina One®.
The relationship we have with our dogs is amazing. I know without a doubt, nobody will harm my children if my dogs have anything to say about it. Regardless of the weather outside, dogs love to go for walks. You don’t necessarily need to take them on a long walk if the weather is bad, but it’s nice to get them out of the house, and get their blood moving. Every dog I have ever owned has loved to go on walks, all I need to do is grab
a leash and the excitement begins.
They Understand More Than Many People Think
I totally disagree with anyone who says dogs cannot understand their owners. My dogs understand what I am saying, I can tell my dogs the same thing in different tones, and they know exactly what I am saying. They might not completely understand, but they have the right idea, and they can definitely read emotions. I tell Skittles about my day, and when I am sad he is the first “person” to offer a year. He comes over, lays his head on my lap, and will stay that. He knows when I am upset; it’s the only time he lays his head on my lap and just listens.
PLUS, they do not argue with us, or tell us we sound crazy, they simply listen and love us.
How many people do you know that will allow you to rant about something crazy, and still make you feel like you are the coolest friend in the world?
They Need Attention Too
I think this is the most important thing, focus on giving them attention. Talk to them while you are on walks. Play games with them while you are cleaning your house talk them or acknowledge them in some way, pet them, give them a bath. Take them with your when you run places, as long as it is not too hot, and you will not be leave them in the for the long period of time. Oh, and my personal favorite, let the kids play dress up, or something fun with them.
In the warmer months, we load up our dog to the river and let them swim for a few hours. We play fetch, and make they swim out and grab their stick. That’s the great thing about dogs, they don’t care what you do as long as you give them attention.
Feeding Them Helathy Food Should Be On The Top Of Your List
A healthy dog is a happy dog; it’s important to feed them well. I am extremely picky when it comes to feeding my dogs; I do not buy certain brands of dog food, and I do spend a little extra money on better quality food.

My landlords need to read this, they are always verbally abusing their dogs. And they’re always going out and leaving the dogs unattended, very neglectful. I used to volunteer at the humane society and I used to see all the abused and neglected dags and cats. It’s nice to see someone who loves their pet. Thank you for sharing this post.

My landlords need to read this, they are always verbally abusing their dogs. And they’re always going out and leaving the dogs unattended, very neglectful.
