6 Things You May Be Doing To Damage Your Hair

by Jenn

Our poor hair goes through so much.  Since our hair is a big part of who we are, and we want it to be as healthy as possible here are a few things you may be doing to damage your hair.  I know, more to keep track of, but the good news is they are all small things that will easy to correct.

6 Things You May Be Doing To Damage Your Hair6 Things You May Be Doing To Damage Your Hair

Since we all want healthier hair, here are a few things you might be doing to damage your hair.

  • Wearing your hair up all the time – I used to wear my hair up all the time.  When I learned it was bad for your hair, I stopped pulling it up the moment I got out of the shower, and I have noticed a big difference.  If you wear your hair up day after day, stop because it can damage your hair!  Did you know wearing your hair up too much can strain your hair at the root making it weaker and in some cases resulting in hair loss?
  • Hairspray and heating tools – Do you spray a section of hair before putting the curling iron or straight iron on your hair?  DON’T, it can dry and damage your hair.
  • Watch for tight braids – We all like to braid our hair, but be careful not to pull those braids too tight when your hair is wet or damp, it can cause damage.
  • Using a brush on wet hair – Brushing wet hair can pull and break hair.  If you need to brush your hair while it’s wet, don’t use a normal brush it can damage your hair!  Be sure to use a comb and take your time combing through your hair in sections.  Grabbing the brush and ripping through wet hair rips, pulls, and breaks your hair!
  • Chlorine from all those awesome swimming pools – Too much exposure to chlorine can make your hair weak and can damage your hair.
  • Coloring your hair too much – It’s recommended to wait 6 weeks between colorings for a reason.  You can use Pantene Platinum Color Lock to help lock in your color for 6 weeks.  Which is great because less coloring means the less you damage your hair and the healthier it is.

I don’t know if you heard yet, but Pantene has a new product that I am pretty excited about trying – Pantene Platinum Color Lock!  Have you heard about it yet?  If not we’re going to fill you in and give you a chance to win our Pantene Platinum Color Lock and a Giveaway right here.  Before we get started on the giveaway let’s talk about Pantene Platinum Color Lock.

If you haven’t heard of Pantene Platinum Color Lock it’s a totally awesome, new shampoo and conditioner you can grab from Sam’s Club in a 40 fl. ounce pump bottle that can be used each and every single day.  It works to help lock in that salon quality color protection, include Nutri-Lock technology that works from the hair’s core to give you up to six weeks protection.  Combined, the shampoo and conditioner work to fight fade, as well as the $40 leading professional brands, based on Kline sales data.  Color-treating hair leaves it weak and prone to damage, but the antioxidants in this system work from the hair’s core to help protect against fade-causing damage and protect color, all while providing a soft, radiant shine.
