Founded in 2011, Back Buddy has been a game changer for mainly parents, but others can enjoy it too! Laura Kardos invented the Back Buddy to help alleviate post delivery childbirth back pain, due to many problems, but mostly due to the epidural. Laura has 3 kids of her own, so she’s had experience with back pains. Her husband was also a major help as a chiropractor, they created the ultimate pillow, the Back Buddy.
We got to test out the Back Buddy Deluxe Support Pillow with Removable Slipcover. I got to say after using the Back Buddy for a little over a week I have come to see a huge difference in my back discomfort lower. As I had gotten an epidural at a young age with my son (who now is 3.) I personally love that the Back Buddy can be used almost anywhere! Bedroom, Chair, couch, floor, etc! It is a one size fits all! I am currently 5′ 3″ tall and just fits me comfortably! There are 2 different types of Back Buddy’s out there the Back Buddy Deluxe Support Pillow with Removable Slipcover and the New All-In-One Back Buddy Support Pillow. I think Back Buddy is a fabulous company that really targets moms who have experienced some back pain discomfort, but Back Buddy isn’t only for moms, it can be for any person who would love that extra comfort their couch does not provide! Now that is pretty cool! Of course you can’t just put the Back Buddy right behind you, like you would normally do with a pillow, if not properly placed, the Back Buddy wont do its thing in helping alleviate discomfort.
Overall the pillow is super plush and soft! All their covers (or slipcovers as well) are made of 100% cotton! So be careful with the dryer! My only concern is that the slipcover is just right, meaning it barely fits over the Back Buddy. So maybe coming up with an extra 1/2 an inch would do greatly since it will also shrink in the dryer. Back Buddy is made from 100% polyurethane foam, which will help keep its form. In which case I laid elbowed on the pillow and panicked after realizing it wasn’t my regular pillow and there was an elbow indent. Lucky the foam fluffed back up within less than 2 minutes which was pretty cool! In addition to the Deluxe Support Pillow, it comes with small side pockets, that can fit 2 water bottles each side as a reference. Deep pockets to hold all your stuff and is made with elastic to help keep its tight form. The pillow itself is such a unique figure contoured to fitting just right at the indent of your lower backside. Back Buddy is also Flame Retardant Free. Back Buddy was also awarded 4 years for the top choice awards, as well as many other awards!
Back Buddy will become part of my family and grow with us as a pillow that is there to help along our way in parenthood. Back Buddy retails from $80-$150 depending on the type of pillow you get. Right now they have a sale and their prices are low! I really recommend Back Buddy to anyone who is willing to do anything to help them as a support pillow.
