Celebrate the Holidays in Style with Thimble and Bodkin #Gift Guide
Did you know that “The apron was traditionally viewed as an essential garment for anyone doing housework. Cheaper clothes and washing machines made aprons less common beginning in the mid-1960s in some countries such as the United States. However, the practice of wearing aprons remains strong in many places. There are many different apron forms depending on the purpose of the apron. A basic distinction is between waist aprons which cover the body from the waist down and a bib apron which also covers the upper part of the body.” Courtesy of Wikipedia.
Aprons are made from various materials. Thimble and Bodkin has a wide variety of waist aprons, as well as bib aprons, which are perfect for protecting your clothing during all those times when you are cooking or cleaning as you prepare for your holiday party.
Thank you Thimble and Bodkin for providing me with the Women’s Lavender Tuxedo Ruffle Apron for the purpose of this review.
I simply love this lavender ruffled apron. To me, the ruffles add a much-needed feminine touch. I also appreciate the fact that this apron has a pocket, which so many aprons don’t. You’ll love how this linen apron flows and feels as you entertain in style. This classic, inspired by spring, apron’s ruffled bodice and lavender tone will lighten your mood and put a smile on your face.
- Handmade item; so many of the aprons made commercially are simply thrown together leaving threads hanging. This handmade apron is a quality item, one where a human being takes the time to finish all seams with quality workmanship.
- Color: Lavender
- Materials: linen, light purple linen, light weight linen, lavender, pink linen, orchid, Linen Look, Linen Blend, light weight fabric, machine washable, Euro linen, purple linen, linen cotton blend

The Tuxedo Ruffle Apron measures: 19 inches wide at the top, 29 inches wide at the bottom, 32.5 inches long and each waist tie measures 25.5 inches. Any of the Thimble and Bodkin aprons make a great gift for the host of a shower or holiday party, a gift for a new bride.
Care of your new Thimble and Bodkin apron is easy. Simply spot clean for small spills, or wash in cold water, low heat to dry. You can even slip on a pair of tights and wear this classic apron in place of a skirt.
A LITTLE INFO ABOUT THE OWNER, MECCA PERRY:
“I’m passionate about culinary arts and as I’m a professional cook by trade, I love to host and cook for friends and family. With this in mind, evidentially I found myself looking a little messy after cooking. I began taking some of my ‘oldie but favorite’ dresses and reconstructing them into aprons. Viola! It was effortless and I looked great from beginning to end. Fast-forward 2 years…the introduction of Thimble and Bodkin, by the way. Thimble and Bodkin aprons are original designs and patterns created in-house by Mecca Perry.”
I try my best to support the small business owner, as my parents were small business owners themselves. I know how hard they worked, and I am sure that Ms. Perry has worked just as hard in her unique designs of these fabulous aprons. I also appreciate the fact that she had her humble beginnings repurposing products that she already had on hand.
You can purchase any of the Thimble and Bodkin aprons right on the Etsy website. And, there is still time to place orders for Christmas gifts, as your orders are shipped within 1-3 business days, once the payment clears. If you place an order on the weekend, it will ship on the next scheduled business day. You can even Request a custom order and have something made just for you. However, the shipping of these orders is a bit longer.
Make the most of your holiday season this year by staying fresh and stylist in your new ThimbleBodkin apron and simply enjoy your holiday party. It’s an Apron. You Don’t have to Cook, Just Wear It!
