If you like making your own homemade household cleaning products, then you will love these easy DIY household cleaning sprays. They are easy to make, all natural, and inexpensive too.
All of these recipes call for essential oils. You can buy your favorite essential oils online or also in your local health food store. You may have to try a couple of different oils to find your favorite(s). Lemon, orange, and lavender oils are favorites for homemade household cleaning products. Try mixing two or three essential oils together for a custom scent.
All-Purpose Cleaning Spray
There are many different recipes for homemade cleaning sprays. This recipe is simple and really gets the job done. You’ll never have to buy a store-bought cleaning spray again if you keep these simple ingredients on hand.
Ingredients:
1 teaspoon liquid dish soap
2 tablespoons white vinegar
1 teaspoon Borax
1 cup hot water
Essential oil
In a clean empty spray bottle, mix together white vinegar, Borax, and hot water. Add the dish soap and a couple of drops of your favorite scent of essential oil. Fill the remainder of the bottle with water, and your all-purpose cleaner is ready to use.
Homemade Dusting Spray
If you are looking for an all natural dusting spray to give your wood furniture a brilliant shine, then give the homemade dusting spray a try.
Ingredients:
1 cup white vinegar
2 teaspoons olive oil
3 cups water
10 drops lemon or orange oil
Mix the above ingredients together in a clean, empty spray bottle. Use as you would a store-bought dusting spray. Apply to wood furniture with a soft cloth.
Scented Room Spray
Scented room sprays are really easy to make. They are a great way to make your home smell like your favorite essential oils. And this spray is all natural!
Ingredients:
1 cup distilled water
1/4 cup white vinegar
10 drops of your favorite essential oil
Mix the above ingredients together in a small spray bottle. Use as you would a store-bought room spray.
Linen Spray
If you love the scent of fresh linens, then you will really like this easy scented linen spray.
Ingredients:
1 cup distilled water
2 teaspoons witch hazel
8 to 10 drops lavender essential oil
Linen spray is great for freshening your sheets and pillow cases between washings. The scent of lavender is also known for helping you fall asleep at night.
For this recipe you will need witch hazel. Witch hazel is very inexpensive and you can find it next to the rubbing alcohol in the pharmacy section of any drug store. The purpose of the witch hazel is to mix the lavender oil with the water.
If you do not have hard water, then you can use regular tap water instead of distilled water. Hard water will make your mixture cloudy and/or clog the sprayer of your spray bottle.
Mix the above ingredients together in a small spray bottle and use as needed to freshen up your linens.

i’ve been slowly trying to become more Green. We use cloth Diapers and wipes. I try to use as little paper towels, ect as possible. so this would be a great way to start changing out my house hold products! Thanks.

The recipe for all-purpose cleaning spray is going to save me so much money! We go through a lot of cleaning spray in my house (four sons and a husband… and me). And I love the scent of clean linen, and spend a fair bit of money on the scented fabric sprays – I tend to spray down the boys’ couch on a daily basis. Hoping the recipe here smells as good as the expensive stuff! (And maybe the lavender scent will make the boys sleepy instead of hyper as an added bonus?)
