Being a parent is super-duper hard work. There is never enough time in the day, or enough energy to go around. I often look at my toddler and wish I could have a quarter of energy she has. Seriously, could you imagine I would be able to get the kids off to school, house clean, laundry done, wash the truck, take my toddler to dance class, maybe do a little dancing in the lobby while I’m waiting for her to get done, work on the blog, cook dinner, go for a walk, help kids with homework, fit in a craft or two, give them kids bath, tell a few jokes, drive my kids nuts, and still have time for a nice relaxing bubble bath.
Truthfully my day is more like get out of bed, take kids to school, come home, sit down, think about everything I need to get done, take my daughter to dance class, come home, look at all the stuff that needs done, wish I had more energy, move stuff around, get frustrating because my daughter has all the energy, give kids baths, wish I had more energy, help with homework, take a shower, and hope that I was up with more energy in the morning lol. Maybe it’s not that bad, but I have seen days just like that.
I thought my summer was busy, WRONG! My kids are back in school, my toddler started her dance classes again, she also attends Tuesday-Thursday School, Vayda plays softball, Catie has singing and guitar lessons, and my son has therapy several times a week. Yup, I just realized how busy I am… Luckily my husband’s grandmother has offered to watch Mattie for a bit each day so I’m able to get some work done, or I’m not really sure what I would do. I already work on the go.
My mother-n-law, husband, and just about everyone we know are avid coffee drinkers, and are always trying to get me to go to their side, lol. Honestly it’s not that I don’t like coffee, it’s pretty darn yummy once you start adding fun stuff like caramel, sugar, and milk. You can hardly taste the coffee. Too bad it’s not the taste, if I drink too much coffee my tummy gets a little upset with me. I have learned to drink a cup now and then, and nothing more. Since I cannot drink coffee, and don’t like the big HUGE, not yummy AT ALL energy drinks with like 12,000 calories per serving, I used to take an energy shot now and again. Until I learned what they had in them, anyway. Now when I need a little energy I think I will use Energems.
Have heard all the buzz about these awesome little chocolate gems packed with energy? I have read a few articles about Energems, but not tried them until recently.
Energems are made in the good old USA, with high quality milk chocolate that is proceed in the wonderful city of Chicago. Energems contain caffeine, Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, and a proprietary energy blend. Energems come with 9 gems per box, which is 3 servings, or more. One serving (3 gems) contains as much caffeine as one cup of coffee or energy drink. Each gem contains 15 calories, and less than 1 gram of fat.
Energems also contain a natural supplement that is known to help improve memory, focus and concentration, and counteracts the jitters that are often associated with caffeine. Many other energy shots, or drinks contain something called Phenylalanine, a major ingredient in aspartame. Energems do not contain Phenylalanine. Which is a plus in my book.
Everyone is different when it comes to their tolerance energy products. I know several people who drink energy drink all day long, or slam several energy shots. My brother is a HUGE energy drink consumer, and wanted to try Energems with me. He did the full dose of 3 gems, but I did not feel comfortable trying all 3 without knowing what I was getting myself into. I ate 1 gem, and once I felt a little effect I ate a second one, and felt like that was enough. I felt a nice little jolt of energy, focused, and read to get a few extra things done.
Personally I liked Energems, and the energy I felt. My brother has stopped drinking energy drinks, and now uses Energems when he is searching for that extra energy. My brother and I both agreed our favorite flavor is the Peanut Butter Blast, and that eating a bite-sized Energems was much better than consuming an energy drink or shot.
On days when I need energy, I would rather use Energems than any of the high calorie energy drinks. They taste better, and there is so much less of them, so many fewer calories, and they do not contain Phenylalanine. Not to mention they are a whole lot less costly.
Energems are yummy, I did not feel yucky or get the jitters, there was no crash when it wore off, and I will use Energems again when I need a pick me up. I do recommend taking it slow. I am a bit of a worry wart when it comes to things like this, but you can always eat another one if you do not feel the energy you’re looking for. It’s always better to take less in my opinion, because you can consume more.
If you are looking for an alternative to one of those high calorie, not so yummy energy drinks, or shots than you might want to consider Energems supplements. They are bite-sized, hard-coated gems made with real milk chocolate, made for all us who are on the go.
