For me there’s nothing that sparks a child’s imagination more than a solid wood toy. Unlike cheap, plastic toys, wood toys are where a child’s imaginary play can really go beyond the scope of reality. This is because with a wood toy, the images, graphics, power, control and sound efforts are usually done by your child. If you’ve been following my reviews then you know I’m a stickler when it comes to strengthening my children’s motor skills and enhancing imaginary play. In our home we have a set day out of the week for the kids to play with their wooden toys. I love watching as they make the choo, choo train sounds and crashing noises as their building blocks tumble down to the ground. This tells me their minds are hard at work growing and learning. So you can imagine how happy in was when asked if we would review the HABAtown Race Car!
Hit The Track With The HABAtown Race Car Wood Toy!
The HABAtown Race Car rocks!! Or may I say, rolls,…lol, this adorable little wooden race car and his passenger guy cruise around our house all day. The car itself has red & blue colors with a radical silver racing stripe and number across the side. The little guy, which Mia has named Gus, has cute freckles and a tiny baby blue racing hat. The little boy character has a cylinder shape for his body that fits snugly into the body of the car, and the wheels glide super easy. This car shoots across our kitchen floor in no time flat!!
I will be honest, I was a little unsure at first about the HABAtown Race Car, because it looked kind of cheap in the images. I thought this was going to be another one of those toys that would end up at the bottom of the toy box within 15 minutes of playing with it. Boy was I wrong, as soon as I had it in my hand, I could feel and see it is made with high quality materials, and the attention to detail is amazing! Mia took to it like a fish to water and has not put it down! I kid you not, she eats drinks and sleeps with “Gus” her HABAtown Race Car!
Great for ages 12 months and up, the craftsmanship and attention to detail is remarkable. The HABAtown Race Car measures in at 5″ long and about 2 inches high making it the prefect size for tiny hands. Best of all it’s made of beech wood and treated with a non-toxic, water based stain. Whats awesome is this cute wooden race car from HABA is safe, and the paint will not wash off, or “drool off”, even if your tot is anything like mine and ends up putting it in their mouth, loving this!! Like I said, princess Mia has to have her HABAtown Race Car with her always she loves it that much! Your kids will love it too!
Wooden toys have been around for centuries and to this day they still bring children so much fun, joy and happiness. Kids will enjoy playing the HABAtown Race Car and it’s tiny driver! Another super cool feature for this wooden race car toy is kids can play with it by itself or they can have a blast using it with the HABAtown block set, wooden HABAtown magnetic train, tractor and HABAtown blocks, each sold separately.
