Springtimeis coming up fast and the heat is coming along with it. I live in Southern New Mexico and down here that means that temperatures are going to rise — a lot. I love the warm weather and all the great outdoor activities as well. The one big problem with it all is that it gets entirely too hot in the kitchen. With the oven on, the stove hot, and running around the kitchen, it becomes unbearably warm sometimes. What to do, oh what to do? Enter Magic Chef and their Countertop Microwave Oven.

When I first started cooking for myself in college, a microwave was usually my best dinner date. Once I started cooking more seriously and more regularly, I became a bit “snobbish.” I mean, who would ever eat a microwaveable meal and truly enjoy it and recreate it? I was stuck with the assumption that only TV dinners and popcorn would come out of a microwave. Well, that bias was changed when I experienced an exceptionally hot summer in Missouri and was enlightened about microwave cooking. The meal was absolutely delicious and tasted as if it was cooked in a traditional way. Needless to say,

Well, that bias was changed when I experienced an exceptionally hot summer in Missouri and was enlightened about microwave cooking. The meal was absolutely delicious and tasted as if it was cooked in a traditional way. Needless to say, I cook to a different tune now.

Now that I cook for my family each day and there are 7 of us in the house, convenience is very important and absolutely welcome. I still prepare my signature meals and cook on the stove and in the oven, but I have been able to manipulate them to be microwavable as well. I tweaked a few things about my favorite recipes to be able to prepare them in the microwave and I have also come up with some new recipes also.

Magic Chef Stuffed

I created a family hit with my Stuffed Bell Peppers that I know will be a monthly, possibly weekly, staple in the house. Of course, all great meals need an equally amazing desert and don’t you fret! I came up with a great Apple Caramel Crisp dessert that will blow your mind. Also, don’t worry either, because I’m sharing all these recipes with you! They will be waiting for you after you finish reading!

Here are some other advantages of cooking with the Magic Chef Countertop Microwave:

1.) Cool It

The Magic Chef Countertop Microwave is such a blessing to have in the kitchen, especially because the hot months are on their way. Here in the South, we will take any tips on how to stay cool and something as easy as using the microwave is definitely welcome.

It keeps the kitchen cooler so I can still prepare and cook with all the love I usually do without sweating bullets and having to take “cool down” breaks. It also makes it easy for the kids to help because I don’t have to worry that they may burn themselves on the hot oven racks or heated burners.

2.) Prep It

I have decent counter space when I cook, but who wouldn’t always like a bit more? Preparing a meal on the stove and in the oven, I have to follow numerous steps and I run out of space. Cooking with the microwave helps to give me more counter space because I can prepare the dish I am cooking and combine it in one microwave safe casserole dish, toss it in the microwave, and then the counters are mine to prepare a fresh salad or a dessert! (I have a great dessert recipe for the microwave too.)

3.) Avoid It

When I am cooking up a storm I am pretty adamant about cleaning up as I go, but that doesn’t stop dishes from accumulating. The Magic Chef Countertop Microwave helps me to avoid a lot of pots and pans to wash. I can get the meal prepared and then cook it in one dish instead of numerous saucepans or baking sheets. So, it cuts down on all those darn dishes and lets me kick my feet up.

4.) Time It

I love to cook for my family and I don’t have anything to complain about really. One thing that does hinder my evenings is that I have to be sure that I set aside ample time to get dinner ready, or any meal for that.  Luckily, with my Magic Chef, I can cut the cooking time practically in half. This helps to keep everyone on schedule and gives me time to think of more creative recipes!

So, there you have it: A Magic Chef Countertop Microwave is a must have appliance for everyone’s kitchen. Saving time, space and even money gives us a great advantage to enjoy the springtime and summer months heading our way. I have found a lot of recipes and created my own that are 100% microwaveable. They come out with great flavor, even cooking and just as good, sometimes better than some dishes I have made traditionally.
