Let Your Creativity Shine Through with Pentel from Shoplet
Are you a crafty person? Do you like to draw and paint? Do your children like to paint with water colors? I am sure you remember the days of water coloring in pre-school, or in grade school, or at home. I also remember that in doing so, quite a mess was created. In fact, in school, we even had to bring in an old shirt from home to wear over our clothing, so we wouldn’t get our school clothing covered with paint. Well, those days of the water color painting tin and brush are a thing of the past. Pentel offers a Sign Pen Brush, which allows you to water color paint without all the mess.
The Pentel Sign Pen Brush works like water colors in a pen. They are blend able and dilute with water. Simply dip the pen in some water. The more water you use, the lighter the color. These pends are extremely easy to clean, as the brush tip wipes clean with a paper towel. But, the fact that I like most is the tips won’t dry out in the event you happen to leave the cap off. The marker type set includes an assortment of colors that includes: Black, Red, Blue, Green, Brown, Orange, Yellow, Gray, Pink, Sky Blue, Violet, and Lt. Brown. These richly saturated colors are fully blend able with water colors and other Sign Pen Brush colors. The wear-resistant, pressure-sensitive and flexible tip can be dilute in water to get a full range of values and thousands of possible colors. You can also vary your line width dramatically with these pens. These pens are great for a variety of techniques including feathering, cross-hatching, calligraphy and detailed line work and outlining.
I had a box of inspirational coloring cards on hand, which were designed to be colored with crayons, colored pencils or water colors. I thought that I could test out the Sign Pen Brush pens on these cards. I used both a blue and a green pen to continue coloring the card. As you can see from the photo, the pens were perfect for using on even the most intricate of designs.
The second product for review was the Aquash Water Brush. This brush is a great tool for both blending and painting. It is easy to use by simply filling the barrel with water and blending your water colors, or filling the barrel with your favorite ink wash. You can control the ink or water flow with just a squeeze of the barrel. The durable, nylon tip will give a sensitive response for delicate lines or pools of water. There are four sizes available: small, medium, large, and flat. Best of all though is that this brush is easy to clean because it is dishwasher friendly. You can also clean it by wiping it with a sponge, rag or paper towel between colors unless you intentionally want to mix your colors.
I continued my “testing” with the use of the Aquash Water Brush as I was anxious to see how it worked. Although I had started coloring the card with colored pencils, I think the use of the Aquash Water Brush did a perfect job. What do you think?
I am sure your children will enjoy both the pens and the brush. However, go ahead and be stingy. You might want to save these to use yourself, since they are perfect for relieving the stress in your life! Using both of the Pentel products was fun and definitely relaxing.
