Homemade Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal Bars

I have to admit it, I am horrible when it comes to skipping breakfast.  Monday thru Friday my mornings consist of rushing out the door to get the kids to school, rushing to the grocery store, rushing Mattie to her play group, it never fails I am always rushing.  Before I know it it’s lunchtime, and I have not had anything to eat.  Since I have been on my diet, I have had to put a lot more focus on breakfast.  I actually get up 15 minutes earlier to be sure I eat a healthy breakfast.  Sorry, but 15 minutes is about all I can do, lol.

To keep my breakfast somewhat nutritious, quick and easy I typically stick with something like a homemade granola bar, or Honey Bunches of Oats cereal.  I have always loved Honey Bunches of Oats, and recently decided to combine two of my favorite breakfast items into one amazing no bake cereal bar recipe

Morning Energy Chocolaty Peanut Butter No Bake Cereal Bars Recipe

What I liked best about this recipe is that the chocolate is already in the cereal, and it is not overpowering.  I don’t know about you, but I am not much into chocolate first things in the morning.  The Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond is amazing, and was a great main ingredient in this no bake cereal bars recipe.

To Make This Yummy No Bake Cereal Bars Recipe You Need:

  • 3 – 4 Cups of Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond
  • 1 Cup of Creamy Peanut Butter
  • 2/3 Cup Honey
  • 2/3 Cups Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • You can also add your favorite dried fruit. We used cranberries, because they are yummy!

  • Place in your prepared baking pan, and press down firmly until it’s nice and even in your dish.  You may want to use waxed paper under your hands to keep them from getting sticky.
  • Allow to cool, and place in the refrigerator for about an hour and allow to set.

homemade no bake Ceareal BarsEnjoy your fabulous no bake cereal bars!  They are super yummy, and very filling!  I only needed to eat a half of one in the mornings to feel satisfied.  My kids on the other hand, I had to keep them out of them.  Every time I turned around they were grabbing a cereal bar!

Oh, and don’t even get me started on my husband who is totally addicted to just about everything in these cereal bars.  He LOVES chocolate and peanut butter, and Honey Bunches of Oats is her favorite cereal.  He didn’t really care which kind until he tried Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond Crunch.

Since we received our cereal several weeks ago, I have purchased 2 boxes of the Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond Crunch, and 1 box of the Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond Crunch.  I know it sounds like a lot, but we have 6 people in the house, and 5 of them are not on diets lol.

New Honey Bunches of Oats CerealI was provided two boxes of Honey Bunches of Oats:

  • Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Cinnamon Crunch
  • Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond Crunch

Which are both amazing!

The new Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy is great.  It’s not only the perfect cereal for the no bake cereal bar recipe, it’s yummy with milk, and my youngest daughter likes it by itself.  Rather than pouring a bowl of cereal, for a snack she will ask for a little Honey Bunches of Oats Cinnamon Crunch in a baggie, and she is one happy camper.  It’s not a bad snack either.

I was supposed to share my Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy cereal with my family, darn it!  I wanted to save it all for me, I mean after all my kids eat breakfast at school, and my husbands boss is always buying him breakfast.  Just didn’t seem fair, lol.  Anyway, I did share my cereal bars, and my cereal.  Since I used most of the Honey Bunches of Oats Morning Energy Chocolaty Almond Crunch in my cereal bars I let my husband have the rest, and shared the Cinnamon Crunch with the kids.  I knew everyone would love them, we already love Honey Bunches of Oats, it’s great for cooking up great recipes, or eating with some milk!  Like I mentioned earlier, we have enjoyed it so much that we have purchased more of it.

My husband loved the Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolaty Almond Crunch the most, which I must agree it has the perfect hint of chocolate.  He enjoyed eating the no bake cereal bars, but said he would much rather eat it with milk.  Kind of hurt my feelings, but I knew he would like the cereal with milk better.  He has always been that way with Honey Bunches of Oats!  As long as he liked the no bake cereal bars recipe I guess I am in good shape.  I know he liked it because he wouldn’t stay out of them, lol.

I am not big on sweets for breakfast, and was happy with the hint of chocolaty goodness. FYI – this also goes great in yogurt!  Every now and then I will eat yogurt for breakfast, and normally add a little granola to help fill me up.  I was out of granola, there was a tiny bit of Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolaty Almond left, so I tossed it in my yogurt and WOW!  It’s yummy!

The New Honey Bunches of Oats Chocolaty Almond Crunch combines those crispy flakes, toasted almonds, yummy crunchy granola, and just enough chocolaty goodness to say it’s amazing.  The best part, one serving has 5 grams of fiber, and 10 grams of protein.

I love the Honey Bunches of Oats Cinnamon Crunch ,just as much as I enjoyed the Chocolaty Almond Crunch!  Okay, maybe I liked this one a little big more.  I LOVE biting into one of the crunch cinnamon granola clusters, I actually caught myself pouring me a bowl trying to get our as many cinnamon granola clusters as possible, lol.  Okay, actually my oldest daughter caught me trying to pic out the little cinnamon granola clusters lol.  Nope, I am not even joking, and I am pretty sure I had that deer in the headlights look.  You know , the one like I had just been bust doing something I wasnt’ supposed to.  For a split second, I felt like a child trying to get all the marshmallows out of my favorite sweet cereal and got busted by my mom, lol.  What can I say, those little cinnamon granola clusters ROCK!

Honey Bunches of Oats Cinnamon Crunch one cup serving has 35 grams of whole gran, 5 grams of fiber, and 10 grams of protein.

I am terrible about writing down recipes. I mat have skipped over it but do you know about how many carbs or fats this has?
