It’s so It sure is good to be back everyone… WOW, that Malware scare was no fun at all! However, I have realized how many amazing friends I have, and wanted to say THANK YOU for all of the emails and messages on Facebook and Twitter! I cannot say thank you enough… So here’s to my first post back! Someone asked me in a comment not long ago, “What’s one thing you don’t like about your Windows HTC 8X?” I responded, but thought this was a good question to answer. The one thing I do not like about my HTC 8X phone is that it doesn’t come in pink. I’m a pink freak, but as you can see in the pictures, I have a nice PINK CASE! So problem solved for $8.99 I have a nice case, my phone is protected, and it’s now pink! Problem solved, and I have yet to find anything I do not like about this phone. Everything is awesome, from the looks to the way it runs.
While some awesome gals were fixing Blah-Blah I spent many hours playing on my Windows HTC 8X phone. I’ve found some cool new apps that I will share with you soon, and spent time customizing my home screen. I knew this phone was totally awesome, and the customization was out of this world, but man I have to say I LOVE THIS PHONE!
My phone is something that I use for just about everything. I use it for personal and business use. I spend time snapping pictures of family and friends, as well as things for my blog. I communicate via text massage, as well as keep up with my social media accounts often using my phone. In the end there so many things I use on a daily basis having easy access to them is such a time saver. On my HTC 8X phone I have everything I need and then some right there on my start up screen. On touch and I’m checking email, on the internet, Facebook, Twitter, Foursquare, snapping a picture, making a video, anything I need is right there.
I love my home screen it has everything i need! Above is a picture of my Windows HTC 8X home screen. Now just because mine looks like this does not mean you’re phone would. I have mine set up this way because it’s everything I use more than ten times daily, lol.
The first box on the left is my People Live Tile, its awesome when you check it on on the home you will see the people change. The People button allows me to look for anyone on my contact list. There’s so many things I can do with the People Tile such as:
- Search for contact in my phone
- Send Text Message
- Message on Facebook
- See what’s new
- Recent contacts
- Shows “Together” which is you’re rooms or groups. Such as family, friends, co-workers, etc.
Let me share a little about “rooms” You can invite someone to your room. It’s kinda a place to invite people to set up privately shared calendars, photos, group chat, notes, etc. It’s awesome, all in one place. I use it all the time for family, as well as blogging. My husband and I use it to make a list for the store. I write the list, he adds to it and one of us will swing by the store on our way home from work.
Next is the “Me” Tile. Yup, this is another handy tile. Love this one as well, you can do things such as:
Post an update via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. Check in on your social media accounts, and control your chat status. You can also check your email and social media notification, check out what’s new on This is an app I catch myself tapping all the time, lol.
Next you’ll see my phone tile. This one is pretty standard you can check your missed calls, recent calls, make calls, search for a contact, and control settings. We also have the “Messaging Tile”. You already know I use this one a lot. I’m not to big on sending text massages, other than to my family and few friends. However, it’s much more than just text messages. You can actually see threads of ALL messages, yes Facebook too! You’re also able to see who’s online and available to chat with.
The next one you see four little tiles. They’re all my email accounts, I know 4 emails. I have a lot of stuff going on, lol. Most of you know I have several blogs and they all have different email address, so this is wonderful. I can keep track of all of my Hotmail accounts, in one place, with the touch of a Live Tile.
Then we have the time, we all need to know what time it is right! Pretty simple, touch it and see what happens, lol. It’s much more than just the time. Open the tile, and you’ll find the weather. Yes, totally customizable as well. That’s not all, you can also see stock updates and top stores from CNN, Yahoo, and you can also add a subscription to different categories such as:
- World Weather
- Mobile Device
It’s great, choose a category and add your favorites. Love it, if you like to stay up to with the time, this tile allows you to do it in plenty different ways.
Finally the last Tile, man that’s a big one isn’t it. That’s because it’s what is most important to me. Pictures, memories, and my family. When I touch that handy tile it allows me to do just about anything I want. I’m able to see all the pictures on my camera roll and browse all my albums, and by this I mean I can see into all my SkyDrive, Facebook, Albums. You’re also able to control settings, set up your background image(s), and any apps that automatically download your pictures for safe keeping. You can also choose favorite images, these are the ones that display on the home screen of your phone. I have my children and wonderful husband picked out so I can watch their pictures all day long. You can also check out what’s new with all your friends on your social media accounts as well. Oh, don’t forget you can control your apps as well. I have four set up, my Photo Enhance, Photo
The home screen on the Windows HTC 8X is truly awesome! I don’t know what else to say, other than it doesn’t stop where I am leaving off. If you slide your finger down, you can keep adding your favorite Live Tiles. I have several more, and am still adding as I continue to discover more and more apps and features that I use. I was going to continue writing and posting pictures, but I want you to see for yourself how smooth this phone is. Everything just works, there’s very little time spend waiting on everything to load, when you want to see something it truly is the touch of a finger.
Here’s a small video I did to help you see what the Home Screen, Lives Tiles and the Window HTC 8X can do. Enjoy, be sure to leave me a comment and let me know what you think of everything. Enjoy everyone.
