five different colors of electric guitars

Are your kids into music? Is it all they talk about? Are they interested in learning to play the electric guitar? Maybe you know an adult that wants to learn how to play? Do they already know how to play but maybe need a new guitar? If you said yes to any of these questions then check this out.  If you have been kicking around the idea of whether or not to get your child a electric guitar, or any other musical interment I suggest being supportive.  You would be surprised how affordable you can pick up a musical interment from Music Arts, especially if your child is starting out, and you are not really sure if it’s something they will stick to.  It’s okay so pick up something inexpensive, or used for your child to experiment with before you make an expensive commitment.  There are tons of reasons kids should learn to play the guitar, or any other musical interment if they want to.  I don’t suggest forcing them to do anything if they are not committed, but if they are willing to give it a shot support them.

Here are a few good reasons to let your child learn to play the guitar, or another musical instrument they are interested in.

5 Reasons To Let Your Child Learn To Play The Electric Guitar!

Discipline

Discipline is something all parents want their children to understand, and learning to play the electric guitar or any other musical interment is a great way for your child to learn discipline.  Children learn that playing an interment takes practice, and with practice they will improve.  If your child enjoys playing a musical interment, than it allows them to learn about discipline while doing something they love.

Patience

Many of us lack patience, I’m one of them.  Good news is that playing a musical interment teaching children patience that will help them throughout their life.  Learning to play an interment takes time, its likely learning that song is going to take some time.  You cannot rush through learning a song, you must practice the song, and patience.

Confidence

Learning to play a musical interment also helps build self-confidence.  As they learn to play an interment, and become better it will give them that warm and fuzzy feeling we all get when we work hard for something and accomplish it.  Of course parents can help too by telling their kids they are doing a great job, asking them to play songs for them, and offering the support they need.  Bottom line, playing an interment can help build self-esteem, but parents can help even more by being supportive and encouraging.

Hard Work

Learning something new is hard work!  Its important children not only learn what hard work feels like, but what it feels like for all that hard work to pay off.  Playing a musical interment is a great way for kids to experience hard work, and once they finally master that song all that hard work pays off

Take Care of Things They Like

Musical interments are fun, and teach our kids a lot, but they also require care.  You cannot toss some stings on your guitar, and expect it to sound perfect forever.  If children expect their interment to perform, it’s going to require them to take care of it, learn what maintenance is required, and how to do the maintenance.

Learning music can benefit children in a number of ways.  If your child is interested in learning to play a musical interment I encourage you to support them, even if it’s an inexpensive guitar like the Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar from Music Arts for only $129.99.  It’s a great guitar, and I’m going to be honest.  My husband wrote the review, he’s the guitar player.  Let’s just say my kids do not get their music abilities from their mom, lol.

Our oldest daughter has been bugging for her own guitar for some time now, I have a nice acoustic that I showed her a few cords on and she practices with. The more she works on it the more I can see her liking it. She don’t care for the acoustic much and has been begging for a good electric guitar. We did some looking around and found some nice guitars but in my opinion none compared to the Squire Bullet Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar from Music Arts, for under $130.

Fender Squire Bullet Stratocaster HSS Electric GuitarThe Squire Bullet Stratocaster HSS Electric Guitar is a sweet guitar. It’s nice and lite, has a fast string action, and sounds great. It sports a Basswood body, Maple neck, Rosewood finger board 9 ½” radius 21 frets medium jumbo. 3 pickups 2 are single-coil Strat pickups 1 middle and 1 bridge the 3rd is a humbuckling pickup in the bridge. The pickup switch is a 5 position blade P1. Bridge pickup, P2. Bridge and middle pickup P3. Middle pickup P4. Middle and neck pickup P5. Neck pickup. Fender super 250I nickel-plated steel strings with chrome hardware and a 1-ply white pick guard. This really is a beautiful well-built guitar that sounds amazing.

Electric GuitarEnough of the tech stuff. Let me tell you again this guitar sounds great. Now I’m no Eric Clapton, or Jimmy Hendrix, but I can play a little, and I played this one. Yes it’s my daughters Christmas present but after being an acoustic only guy for years I think I’m going to have to get me a new Squire Bullet Stratocaster Electric Guitar. Maybe I’ll keep this one and give Catie my old one. I know that’s not fair so I’ll wait till after Christmas to get mine, but I am going to get one I love this guitar and I’m seriously having a hard time putting it back in the box so Jenn can wrap it and put it under the tree. Lucky spoiled kid’s man I don’t get nothing in this house…

Music is an excellent form of expression and a healthy avenue kids can use to deal with many of the things they face. Music has been a big part of my family as far back as I can remember. While none of them have taken any professional lessons, all of my children have their own guitar. I have two who would absolutely love this.. I’m glad I ran across it!!

Forget the kids! I want to learn how to play the electric guitar! I played the piano for 10 years and just gave it up, but I haven’t ever stopped rocking out with my air guitar to some great rock music. Not sure my husband would be so thrilled, though!

I have an amazing grandson! No one in my family is musically inclined except my brother-in-law. Well as soon as my grandson could hold a small guitar my brother -in-law started to teach to play. Now he is 4 years old and he plays the drums and the guitar as well as you can expect a 4 year old to play. So proud of him. He acts like a rock star on stage playing and singing and it’s so cute.

It would be nice for my son to learn to play. I come from musical family who plays guitars and banos. But they are distant family.

Great review. I think if a child shows an interest and can be worked into the budget, it should be encouraged. It does build confidence. When I was a kid I can’t remember any young boy that didn’t play guitar or drums.

These are very valid points! I think if a child is interested in playing any instrument, it should be encouraged!

My son has an acoustic guitar he plays around with, never having lessons but looking online to learn. I have seen my grandson pick it up several times to try and learn a bit too. I think they’d both love an electric guitar and love that it helps with patience. Maybe I need to play one too….haha

I agree fully. My parents put me in guitar lessons when we first moved to Canada.
It taught me to learn Patience and I also got over my stage fright from
all the performances we had to do.

I agree that learning to play an instrument teaches you all those things.. I like that this guitar is cheap enough that if your child gets tired of playing it it isn’t going to feel like you lost a lot of money.
