I remember when I was pregnant with Mattie I was SO SCARED of having her. I mean I was excited, but you hear so many horror stories I wasn’t sure what to think, I just remember being scared. To this day, I don’t know what I would have done without my nurse. Gosh, she was amazing she went above and beyond the call of duty for me. She talked to me, told me exactly what was going on, and just hung out with me because she knew I was scared and she knew having her around really helped. See I’m hard headed and like to act like I’m okay, when I am not. I sent my mom home for the night, and my husband was sleeping in the other room. It was just me, and thankfully my wonderful nurse.
I ended up having Mattie WAY earlier than anyone expected. It was VERY early in the morning, and the doctor was at home getting rest. Of course when she called he jumped up and came to the hospital, but I was going to have this baby like it or not, and my nurse was there the whole time, ready to deliver my daughter if she had to. I thought she was going to end up being my doctor and my nurse but right before things went crazy, the doctor walked in. I still remember the look on her face, lol. See, I wasn’t scared while we were waiting for the doctor I was too busy trying to focus on trying not to have the baby until he got there, but she was worried she was going to deliver the baby.
It’s funny how things work, and it’s because of her my stay wasn’t horrible. I was scared, but calm the whole time because I knew she would be honest with me about things. I knew that she was there for me if I needed anything and most important she knew what was going on, lol.
