We’re Partying Pull Ups “First Flush” Style So Can You

0001Hi everyone, meet my daughter.  This picture is my daughter, she’s asking me where her party is.  Darn little Diva, don’t even know how she knew about the party.  Maybe she just thinks she deserves a party since, she is so stinking cute.  She’s at the age where she knows everything, I HAD NO IDEA IT STARTED SO YOUNG.  Most of you know I am raising 3 step children, Mattie is my 1st to potty train.

I have some pretty exciting news.  Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog is part of the Pull Ups “First flush” Ambassador Program.  How exciting is this, not only is it exciting because I will be working with Huggies.  Which is truly the only brand of diaper I will use, but my daughter is finally showing interest in being potty trained.

I was thinking back to my daughters first flush, lol.  You know me, I always have a story.  You’re going to love this one.  It’s been months and months ago that we celebrated my daughter first flush.  We celebrated with a high-five, and the Pee-Pee in the Potty Happy Dance.  Yes, we really do have one, and NO you cannot see, lol.  However, I think I look pretty cool doing it.  Now back to the Pull Up’s “First Flush“.

After we celebrated my daughters first flush, she helped mom celebrate one too lol.  There I am sitting on the ‘Big Girl Potty”, I flush.  My daughter comes running over, before I can flush, she looks down in the potty, and makes a beeline for dad.  There’s mom, pants down, confused look on her face, Mattie screaming daddy, daddy mommy went pee-pee in the big girl potty.  She then runs over to give me a high five, mind you I still have my pants down.  Then grabs dad’s hand to begin doing the Pee-Pee in the Potty Happy Dance.  OMG, my child is nuts.

Anyway, now back to business.  I’ve been wondering when my daughter is going to do it, you know make the permanent change from diapers to big girl panties.  I think in the start I pushed her a little too much, I bought her super-cute My Little Pony panties, hoping she would want to wear them.  She did, on her head.  At that point I realized that I needed to calm down, she would do it when she is ready.

Now, don’t get me wrong.  I don’t just hope some day soon she will have it all figured out.  I get excited when she tells me she needs to go, and always offer to help.  If she asks me to leave her alone, I also allow her private time.  I let her lead the way, and mom follows.  After all, she’s really the one that has to be ready right.  Like everything else in life, we cannot force only guide.  That’s my strategy.

My biggest challenge has been consistency.  One day she will do great, the next day she doesn’t’ want anything to do with it.  I often wonder if my Phone photos, Uploaded from the Photobucket Android Appstrategy is right.  I think it is, and feel like I’m doing the right thing, but I often wonder if there is a better way.  I would have to say as far as challenges goes, it’s my inexperience with potty training, and her inexperience using the big girl potty.

I am excited to host a Pull-Ups “Why Wait Let’s Celebrate First Flush Party.  I think my daughter will have a baste too.  We will be inviting over a few friends and their children to join the fun, and we’re just going to party until the diapers fall off.  Lots of fun for mom and toddler.

I have some pretty darn fabulous news too.  Did you know you can sign up for your very own Huggies party?  I know, it’s pretty awesome.  If you’re interested in signing up for you’re own party you can sign up through the Pull-Ups Facebook Tab here: http://on.fb.me/TZU2xd

You’ll also find all the details for hosting the “First Flush” In-Home Party there too.  You better hurry though.  You can only sign up through the end of December, so hurry over.

Be sure to swing by and visit Pull-Ups on their Website.  You can also follow Pull-Up’s on Facebook and Twitter.

Leave me a comment and let me know if you’re going to head over to the Pull-Ups Facebook page and have a “First Flush” Party of your own.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Pull-Ups. I received product samples to facilitate my review and to host a party.  I received a promotional item as a thank you for participating.

Im going to do this if I can ever get my son to poop on his potty, pee is no problem but that is where he draws the line lol

  • Alex

oh man, i’m not a parent, so i haven’t had to go through this…good luck!

  • Brenda

I think the “First Flush” Party will be a hit !!!

My daughters were so easy. I just let them let me know that they were ready. When they started not liking the feel of a dirty diaper on them I went with it. I made it fun to go potty. We had a song and game that we would do. I really never had a problem. =D

When my niece was little and going thru potty training, we did all the right things, like you did and she still had those good and bad days, meaning no consistency. However, when we put pullups on her… she lovvvvved them lol She did not want to get them wet at all. She was potty trained within a week! If she did have an “accident” we would say, hmm wonder if we should get the diapers out again, and she would say nooooooooooooooooo. lol It did work and it worked mostly because of the pullups and the fun things they have on them just like big girl panties do! hehe

It has been so long since I had a small child that I don’t even remember what we did to potty train but I know the new moms these days have it made a whole lot better than I did so in this one instance, I think progress has been a blessing to all of you!

Haha, Absolutely. Potty Training is a nightmare. My son didn’t mind dirty or wet diapers infact if I went all day without changing him he wouldn’t make a peep. So someone suggested to let him run around the house naked. Well needless to say my son peed everywhere but the potty including on the dogs back. Since then, my son is potty trained however he still feels it is “ok” to drop trow” whenever and wherever he wants.

    • http://jennsblahblahblog.com Jenn

omg, poor you lol. Darn kids they are crazy and really do things when they are ready. I have come to terms with the fact that I will not be able to change that, just have to kick back and wait lol..

  • Mya Murphy

She is adorable! I don’t have children, so this doesn’t apply to me.

    • http://jennsblahblahblog.com Jenn

that’s okay Mya I appreciate you stopping by to read about our Flush Party, lol I giggle every time I say that name

  • Rebecca Sinclair

Each child is completely different. After training 4 kids, both boys and girls, none of them trained the same. I basically just tried not to stress about it. I knew they would all get it eventually…and they did! Your adorable little diva sounds like she is smart as a whip! She’ll catch on fast, I’m sure :)

  • Andrew L.

That is a great idea! Our son is just starting to show interest in Potty Training and his favorite part is flushing lol

    • http://jennsblahblahblog.com Jenn

  • http://www.jsritz.webnode.com Jane Ritz

    • http://jennsblahblahblog.com Jenn

that is kind of what I have decided is that she will do it when she is ready… I wish she would hurry lol

  • Amelia Pickens

    I think its a awesome idea. :-)

  • lisa

I have a question about the daily word.On the page it skips from number 17 to 19. Will that void my daily entry if I used the wrong word? Thanks!

  • Kathy Smith

I think your party is fantastic idea. I am a new grandmother so I have a little while to help my grandson and his Mom. I had it fairly easy with my 2 children but of course that has been long ago and far away.

  • susan rumble

cool idea. and the kids get excited to potty train.

  • Alex Roach

    This is adorable!

  • lisa

It’s a cute idea. My daughter does that with my granddaughter.

  • Rich Hicks

Good luck with her. They all will learn eventually and every child is different, The party will be great with other Moms in similar situation and every one who has a baby that will need training eventually.

    • http://jennsblahblahblog.com Jenn

Thanks Rich that is what i keep telling myself is she will let me know when she is ready… I think she is getting there, but I don’t think forcing her would do one bit of good.

  • Rebecca Sinclair

Potty Training has been my LEAST favorite job as a parent. I dreaded it every single time. I wish I had done a “First Flush” party …with my oldest daughter especially. She thrives on attention and reward and this would have been so helpful for her! Good luck with the potty training adventure. I hope your adorable daughter catches on quickly!
