Spending time together with our kids is essential. My girls are not getting any younger but they are still young enough that hanging out with mom is the cooler than ice cream, and that’s pretty darn cool, lol. Needless to say, I’m taking advantage of every last moment of it because it will be gone before I know it, and I don’t want to look back and wish I had spent more time with them.
This summer we had a girl’s day once a week. It was awesome, but now that school is back in session we have moved our girl’s day to once every two weeks unless time allows us to add an extra one in.
4 Tips For Spending Girl Time With Your Daughter
Since spending time with our kids is critical here are a few activities we like to do on our girl days.
Ask
When I’m feeling brave, I’ll ask my daughters what they want to do for our girl’s day Most of the time I luck out, and it’s nothing too crazy, but there has been a time or two I’ve ended in a pickle. At the end of the day, it’s what makes them happy and puts a smile on their face, so it’s worth every pickle I’ve been in, lol.
Makeovers
My girls and I love to do makeovers! Thankfully, my daughter Vayda is talented when it comes to hair and makeup. My youngest daughter, on the other hand, LOVES lipstick, and if you are not careful, she will paint you whole face and even give you a lipstick tattoo. Regardless, it washes off, and it’s loads of fun.
Spa Day
Schedule some mom-daughter time and pamper one another. My kids are awesome, they love to spoil mom so it’s nice when I can return the favor.
Get them a girlie gift and let them teach you how to use it
