My first pregnancy was extremely difficult. Towards the end I was on complete bed rest. Because I was so ill and unable to get out & about, my baby shower was postponed indefinitely. After a couple of weeks of bed rest, my mom saw I was becoming really depressed really fast, so she decided to go ahead and have a get well soon/ baby shower. Boy I’m sure glad she did!! I received the most wonderful baby gear ever! Now, to give you a little history, I was a young mother and didn’t know much about baby gear. The day after my party, my mom & I were going through all the wonderful baby stuff I received. I came across this big, long, plastic, bulky, white, square looking thing with a thin piece of foam at one end. I sarcastically asked my mom “what in the world is this?” she gave a loud giggle and said “it’s a baby bath”! I kid you not, I felt so silly!! That was 31 years ago, and baby baths have come a long way since then! Boy, oh boy, am I super-duper excited to share with you the latest, newest design in baby baths from Stokke!!
5 Tips On choosing The Perfect Baby Bath!!
1. Be sure the baby bath has a removable sling or hammock to keep your newborn higher in the water and closer to you. After a few months, you can remove this insert for your older child to sit up and splash.
2. A baby bath with plug at the base is best so you can easily drain the water out after bath time.
3. Look for baby baths that can be stored easily, or that come with a hook/suction cup so you can hang it out of reach when not using it. This can also help you make sure the bath drains completely and doesn’t get moldy.
4. Foldable baby baths are more convenient for storing and carrying, especially when traveling, be sure these travel baths are sturdy and solid.
5. Avoid inflatable baby bath baths: Consumer reports say these can collapse.
Most babies love to take baths, so did my little Miss Novalee when she was younger, for some odd reason as she reached 6 months it was a whole new ball game. She will scream & cry every time we put her in the water. We had our hopes up and anticipated she was going to love the Stokke Flexi Bath, nope, she is still afraid of the water. Even though Novalee has a water phobia, we absolutely love the Stokke Flexi Bath! The Dr said Novalee will outgrow this phobia real soon, she is 10 months old now so when she is ready, Stokke will be there for her!!
The Stokke Flexi Bath can be paired with the Stokke Flexi Bath Newborn Support, ergonomically designed to fit the baby’s body shape, mocking the support of mom’s loving, steady arm, keeping babies safe and allowing them to move freely while bathing. This unique, foldable international award-winning, children’s bathtub, as with all Stokke products, is designed to grow with your child up to age 4. We love this! What I think is absolutely fabulous is how light weight and easy to use it actually is!
Made from plastics completely free of harmful substances, is what makes the new Stokke Flexi Bath one of the safest children’s baby baths available today!! All we have to do is unclip the top, open it up a little bit and set it in the tub!! When baby is done bathing, pull the plug, allow the water to drain, place it upside down in your tub until dry. If your anything like me and don’t care to leave stuff in the tub, you can use a towel and with a quick couple of strokes, it’s dry in no time, fold and store! My overall favorite about this baby bath is the rubber/silicone sealing along the sides & bottom. This wonderful seal prevents the bath from leaking, slipping & sliding keeping baby safe while bathing, loving this!! No more worrying about the baby bath sliding around at splash time, yeah!!
We love Stokke, everything they make is designed to grow with your child. They take pride in their high quality products and work hard to bring us nothing but the best. Striving to make life easier for us parents is what Stokke is all about!
