- Woodwork and Wood Floors: If you’ve noticed a slight bend in your wood floors, or gaps between the planks, it could be because of low humidity. As the wood expands and contracts, mitered corners can separate and floors can “cup” so that the floor doesn’t remain flat.
- Wine: Does your uncorked bottle of wine not taste right? Wine corks can dry out, shrink and crack if exposed to low humidity over time, allowing air to come into contact with the wine and potentially ruin the bottle.
- Artwork: Maintaining humidity levels is vital for protecting artwork around the home. Low moisture levels tend to make paint brittle and prone to cracking, which is especially detrimental to oil paintings on canvas.

I had no idea of the damage low humidity could cause in a home. I just know that it makes me feel congested when I don’t have enough humidity in the air, especially while I’m sleeping. Both the heater and humidifier look awesome and sound like a winning combination.

My g’son has a stam collection going an, I went straight to his collection after reading up on the 10 tips. Whew, his collection was stored in a cool, dry place thanks goodness. I love Honeywell, they do have great products.

True, true Laura, we have a couple stored away now, that were super load. This humidifier is almost silent. You have to put your ear close to the unit to actually hear anything. I also was unaware about all the damage that could be done until i read the 10 tips from Honeywell.
