Here are a few tips to help you get your home ready for fall without all the stress. Seriously, don’t stress start now and take your time, get the kids to help you and have some fun. Believe it or not, getting your home ready for fall can be fun and stress-free!
Clean up the yard, but first….
Before you put all those fun leaves into a trash bag why not rake them into a huge pile and let the kids have a little fun. It’s a great way to start getting your home ready for fall! It will get everyone giggling and having fun, just helps set the mood. If you are into photography it’s also a great time to get some pictures of the family having a little fun.
Clean your gutter
Remove leaves and anything else that has fallen into your gutters. It’s also a good idea to flush them with water to make sure they are draining properly. You’ll want to keep your gutters clean so all everything can properly drain during the colder months.
Clean up the fireplace
Get your fireplace ready if you have one. Sure your heating system works great, but there is nothing like watching a movie with the family or your spouse while the fire is roaring. Make sure it’s nice and clean for your fall family movie nights.
Check doors and windows
Be sure to check all your doors and windows to help prevent drafts during the colder months. If you find an area that air from outside is coming in you can use door and window seals or caulk.
Reverse the ceiling fans
Don’t forget to change your ceiling fans. You’ll want to create an upward draft that helps to redistribute the warm air that rises.
