This is a sponsored post written by myself in partnership with ABRAMS. All opinions are my own.

If your child hasn’t read the Wimpy Kid series, I highly suggest you get to reading it so you can add the newest spin-off book, Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Journal, to your children’s collection. Seriously, my daughter loved the book and loves the entire series.

I asked her what she found most appealing about the series and this is what she told me.

These books are definitely unique and fun to read

If you have not read the series, they are awesome. It’s like you are reading the diary of a 12-year-old.  From the way it’s written to the illustrations, it’s definitely a story that resembles a 12-year-old’s diary.

The main character is great

The main character is awesome.  His name is Greg Heffley, and he is hilarious and by far my favorite character in the Wimpy Kid series.

Don’t forget about Rowley

Rowley, he is great!  Another favorite for sure and Greg’s best friend.  He is full of enthusiasm.

Helps promote being an AWESOME friendly kid

Both Maddie and Vayda are awesome friendly kids! Vayda is a little more, well, dingy than Mattie, but she sure wouldn’t be my Vayda if she was able to walk and chew bubble gum at the same time lol.  Madisyn, well she is more coordinated and a much more matter-of-fact, take-charge sort of gal, but I tell you, when it comes down to it, they are both the best children I know. Their teachers, friends, parents of friends, and even the principal has made a point on several occasions to pull me aside and let me know how awesome and friendly my kids are.  They have never been in trouble for picking on another kid, and to this day, all of my girls have been the ones to stop bullying and make a new friend when they notice someone isn’t being treated properly.

I like to think I’m a friendly person and able to remain pretty positive i. It’s something I’ve tried to teach my girls, but they are just naturally AWESOME friendly kids.  Having a handicap brother has a lot to do with it; they see people differently than most kids.

They are understanding, compassionate, funny, outgoing, fun, and for the most part, they are always smiling and naturally use open body language.  At the end of the day, they just care about other people. They want to help put a smile on someone’s face when they are having a bad day, and it makes me so proud!

Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid: Rowley Jefferson’s Journal is an awesome choice if you want give your kids something they will love to read that promotes being an awesome friendly person.

Get ready for a whole new look into Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid!

Introducing the newest Wimpy Kid author—Rowley Jefferson! Rowley’s best friend Greg Heffley has been chronicling his middle-school years in thirteen Diary of a Wimpy Kid journals . . . and counting. But it’s finally time for readers to hear directly from Rowley in a journal of his own. In Diary of an Awesome Friendly Kid, Rowley writes about his experiences and agrees to play the role of biographer for Greg along the way. (After all, one day Greg will be rich and famous, and everyone will want to know his life’s story.) But Rowley is a poor choice for the job, and his “biography” of Greg is a hilarious mess.
