I’m excited to share this awesome baby shower gift ideas post and giveaway for baby! I Although I did receive compensation and a product for this post all opinions are 100% my own am participating in this campaign as a member of The Niche Parent Network & Conference. Most of you know my husband and I will be trying for another child soon. So talking about baby shower stuff is icing on the cake!
I remember when I was pregnant with Mattie I thought I needed so many things, but in the end I didn’t. So many of those items went without being used. This time around I plan on being better prepared, becasue I know now what I didn’t know then, and it does help, especially when it comes to things to saving money on baby items. On another note, most of the helpful items I received were from my baby shower gifts. I was lucky most of the women at my shower were experienced moms, and they got me things I would use. So if you are shopping for baby shower gift ideas, my biggest piece of advice to you is to get soon-to-be-mom something she will use for the baby.
Diapers – Don’t get newborn diapers, but all different sizes. Now that I am more experienced, when I shop for baby shower gifts I always get a package of size 3 or 4 diapers. One thing that helped me so much as a new mom was all the different size diapers. I didn’t get any newborn diapers, which was great because Mattie grew out of them so quickly I didn’t need them long. Bigger diapers are a great baby shower gift idea – they will be used, and very much appreciated.
Blankets – My mom told me to get a lot of blankets, but I didn’t realize how many I would need. Soft blankets, along with receiving blankets are something to consider too.
Bath time – All my kids love baths, and have since they were babies. Plus, everyone needs to keep clean, so bath products are a great idea. Maybe a few rubber duckies for fun time too, just be sure they are safe for babies.
Nursing pillow – I cannot tell you how much I loved my nursing pillow. I wasn’t able to nurse Mattie a lot, which was fine as far as the pillow was concerned. Whether the parents are breastfeeding or bottle feeding these pillows make life easier. I have heard several moms talking about how much they loved their nursing pillow. You can also purchase extra covers for them, which does come in handy when you need to wash.
