PBS Kids is the #1 media brand for kids, offering entertainment hand in hand with educational subjects that help our children grow mentally and emotionally. They are constantly working to bring us supreme content. On April 10, 2018 PBS Distribution released “Caillou: Caillou Goes Camping” on DVD with around 55 minutes filled with Caillou, Rosie, their friend Clementine, parents and pet Gilbert. Caillou is a lovable four year old, big brother to baby Rosie and great friend. He is very relatable to children in his character, speech and imagination.
What I like the most of the Caillou show, is the real relationship between Rosie and Caillou. This DVD revolves around the great outdoors like the weather and critters that can be appealing to small children. It sparks the imagination and creativity of a child along with their buddy Caillou. This DVD showed Caillou in a fun manner, open-minded to new things, not whiny or impatient. My children know Caillou from the music even though there is no words. I like how they discuss the growth of a butterfly in a manner that is easy for a 3-5 year old to understand. My children loved to talk about the caterpillars, snow, campaign and helping others. This is perfect for our household as we are exactly 4 and my daughter pretends we are all on character from the show. My favorite character is Leo, he is just so adorable in his little trousers.
My daughter was so excited for this DVD. She loves Caillou and loves to pretend our pet dog is Gilbert. Her favorite episode was the one where they visited a butterfly home. They talked about caterpillars growing up to be butterflies and different types of butterflies. My son on the other hand loved the one where they are shoveling snow. I think because we hardly see snow in our state, it was more interesting to him. The episode that got her a little sad was when Leo left his dinosaur stuffed animal at the park and how Caillou tried to find it for Leo with his dad’s help but couldn’t find it initially. He was persistent as most kids are and found it. My daughter was so relieved.
It was great to see Caillou engaging in fun outdoor activities and being so caring for his friends. You can purchase this DVD in the PBS shop page from $12.99 plus shipping. Follow PBS Kids on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram for the latest releases, printables and other news.
