I’m going to admit I love watching my children enjoy shows like Sesame Street, Daniel Tiger, Dora the Explored and even other quality kids videos on YouTube, but the thought of them uncovering something they shouldn’t see scares me. There is so much yucky content out there, especially online. It’s our job as parents to keep our kids eyes young, and protect them from so much of the yucky stuff on the internet. Magicflix is one of my new favorite, safe, engaging, and educational video app for kids if you haven’t heard of it yet, be sure to check it out in the App Store or it’s also available for your android device.
Choosing A Safe, Engaging & Educational Video App For Kids
Positive Learning – Naturally, we want our children to learn something while they’re online. Sure, there are times when it’s okay to watch something that doesn’t offer much educational content now and again. However, for the most part I look for something that delivers cool categories that are entertaining and educational for my children. – Naturally, we want our children to learn something while they’re online.
Safe -I think many of you would agree – as a parent, I want safe, educational, fun and engaging content for my children, but I want it in a safe place too. I don’t use the TV or internet to babysit my children, but it is nice to get some things done. I enjoy Magicflix, because I can do dishes, laundry, or get dinner done and not feel like I need to be looking over their shoulder every 15 minutes. There is no way I’m leaving my children alone with my iPad on a video app unless I feel good about what they are watching and the app itself.
Designed for kids – I don’t want a video service that’s designed for everyone – adults and children of all ages. I do allow my children to watching things on these apps, but in a 100% supervised environment only. When I’m looking for an app for kids, I want something designed for kids, like Magicflix. It’s designed for kids, and the ease of use helps children discover videos that help them learn at the same time.
Free – Sure I will pay for a service that’s right for my kids if it offers everything I expect and my kids enjoy it, but free is always an awesome perk.
Fun – My kids need to be engaged, or I end up back on the service that I have to sit with them the entire them while they’re watching. I truly appreciate a good app, geared directly for children, which allows me to selelct their age, and gives me a little time to do the dishes maybe.. Oh, or laundry because I love doing it so much, lol. Truly, it’s easier to get these things done when the kids are busy.
Engaging – If I expect my children to learn anything from what they’re watching it’s going to have to be educational, but engaging. The more fun the content, the more they’re going to pick up. I have watching countless videos on different video apps that were just boring, my kids didn’t like them, and I can’t blame them.
Age appropriate – Most video apps for kids are okay, but there are a few that think all children should be learning their ABC’s. I have kids from 2 all the way up to 16, and they all learn differently, and naturally are interested in learning different things. My older children already know their ABC’s and might be interested in more science related videos. I love it when an app, like Magicflix, offers something for all of them.
Playlist – I love when we can create a playlist. Whether it’s something I create for my children or they create it I have found playlists to be extremely useful.

Magicflix is a video app that is safe for children 12 and younger who promise worry-free parenting and happy kids! They defiantly deliver in my opinion!
I think of the main reasons Magicflix is such a great service for kids is because it was built by three moms, who understand what parents are looking for. They built Magiclfix as an alternative to the unsafe, mindlessly entertaining video services that are available to our children.
One of my kids favorite things about Magicflix is all the videos and channels they can watch. There are more than 1000 video and plenty of channels for kids to have fun. Choose from super fun Sick Science’s awesome experiments, Digits live action Math Rock band or even NASA’s eClips for kids! There is tons of fun on Magicflix.
