Every year around Thanksgiving, I start getting eager to put up the Christmas tree. I love the lights, the ornaments, and watching the kids start to get excited about the holidays. However, as much as a I love the tree, I dislike crawling underneath it every time I want to turn the lights on and off. Sure the kids would do it for me, but that leaves the chance that they will knock it over in the process. When I was given the opportunity to review Treemote™, I jumped at the chance.
Treemote is a remote control for your Christmas tree lights! It operates on radio frequencies and communicates with the outlet by letting it know to turn the tree on or off. It is super easy to install and use. Just plug the receiver into the outlet you will be using and plug the lights into it. The remote resembles a Christmas tree and it lets you control the lights from up to 80′ away. The Treemote doesn’t just work for the Christmas tree however, as you can use it anytime of the year. It is perfect for operating lights or small appliances that are hard to reach. The battery is even included so you can start using it right away.
I hooked the Treemote up right away. It was super simple and it took just seconds. Once hooked up, I grabbed the Christmas tree remote and tried it from across the room. It really worked! It even worked from the kitchen and my bedroom. The remote fits nicely in the hand and I am so happy I do not have to do the dreaded army crawl under the tree to light it up.
I do not plan on packing it up with the rest of the Christmas items after the holidays. I will use it to turn my little one’s lamp off after she drifts off to sleep so I don’t risk waking her by going into her room. The Treemote definitely makes a great Christmas present for family and friends. You can purchase a Treemote from the website or at select retailers including Wal-Mart.
