I really found it interesting, there are hot tub covers that insulate with air, that is a fabulous idea. SpaCaps has custom hot top covers, that are made in the USA, they use air to insulate the covers rather than foam. Foam in times becomes saturated and heavy, breaks, the air that they use lasts longer and makes the custom hot tub covers are lightweight and easy to take off and on.
If you are looking for a replacement hot tub cover consider this. If every hot tub cover needs replaced every two years that would be 52.5 million cubic feet of waste going into our landfills, that is just in Spa Covers. All this talk about Going Green and saving the planet, I never once thought about my hot tub cover. Choosing a light weight hot tub cover makes more sense it is not only better for the environment, but easier to manage while moving the cover. Our cover is a pain to move it is heavy and when I try to move it alone, I swear something always happens, it either falls on the ground, in the water or on me it would be nice to have one that I could manage without having to call for help.
My husband and I have been doing a lot of research to find the best deal for a new Hot Tub Cover ours is about 5 years old and is in pretty bad shape. After finding out about how many hot tub covers end up in our landfills and how much room they take up, I will be doing a lot more research before I choose a replacement hot tub cover. If I choose a spa cover that is insulated with air, it will send less trash and junk to the landfill the next time we need to purchase a cover.
