I was recently given the opportunity to review Disney’s Wings of Life.
Disneynature has brought us several fabulous films such as “Earth”, “Chimpanzee”, and several others. I recently had the pleasure of watching Disney’s newest addition to Disneynautre, Wings of Life! I have to say this movie made me look at flowers and bugs in a whole new light. In our house we have a “Scared of Bug Club.” That’s what it is called and everyone but my husband and oldest daughter are in the club, lol. My oldest daughter loves bugs, which is actually why I was so excited to get this movie. I knew she would love it and appreciate it.
I was actually surprised how much I enjoyed the movie, it really made me stop and think about how important every little thing is here on earth. I have never thought to look at life through the “leaf” of a flower, but it’s crazy. My daughter and I were watching Disney’s Wings of Life and asked me if I had ever thought about life from a flowers point of view. I kind of giggle and told her no, as the movie went on I started to think about what she had said.
This is a fabulous movie with an awesome celebration of life. You will be reminded how important some creatures are to the world. I know I am guilty of it – nothing thinking about how important butterflies, bees, bats, hummingbirds, and flowers are to the world. Our life on earth depends on some of the smallest things that we often take for granted. Disney’s Wings of Life is a great reminder of how important they actually are. Yes, even for those of us who have a “Scared of Bug Club”.
In the world we live in all these small creatures we often take for granted or the unsung heroes of the global food chain, and it’s great to be reminded how important they all are. As a third of the world’s food supply depends on these amazing creatures.
Diney’s Wings of Life in narrated by Meryl Streep and was relaeased on April 16, 2013. My oldest daughter, Catie loves the movie and has watched it a few times. I on the other hand have watched it twice and it’s really opened my eyes to how important every creature is to the world we live in. I think it’s important for us, and our children to understnand the impact loosing them would have on the world we live in. This movie will make you stop and think. Even my 8 year old daughter started asking questions after watching the movei. She asked what would happen if we didn’t have bees, flowers, and bats. It’s a scary thought when you think about a world without these creatures.
I have to say this is an awesome film that will make one stop and think about the creatures in our world, even the smallest of them that we often think of as a pain. I mean let’s face it, nobody wants a bee hive in their front yard, but it’s extremely important that we have a place for these bees to survive on earth or the consequences are scary.
This is a beautiful film that will make one really stop and think about how things work in this wonderful world we live in.
