Do You Know Your “Mom Spirit Animal”?

by Jenn

As parents, we’re naturally protective of our children.  From the moment, they are born we protect them from falls, bumps, scrapes, disappointment, and of course, we’re always protecting them from germs, so they don’t get sick.  As a protective mom, I want to do everything I can to make sure my kids are safe, healthy and happy.  I am working with Lysol to help celebrate all mother’s natural protective instincts.

kidsYou remember being a child right?  I do, it’s tough.  Everything from your first day back to school, making new friends, having new teachers, trying out for the basketball team, dealing with bullying, tests, fights with friends, and everything else that comes along with growing up.  As a mother, if I see my kids upset, hurt or sick the mama bear comes out of me when I see my kids in both emotional and physical pain.

I hate that my children are growing up! I really do, but some things will never change.  I still find that I am protective and that my number one priority is their safety.  I’ve always been a protective mama bear!  Three of my children are my stepchildren, but I’ve raised them and love them as my own.  While I can’t change what they went through before I came into their lives, I can pour my heart and soul into keeping them happy and healthy going forward.

Something I’ve learned is that one should never mess with a child and not expect to see the mama bear.  Well, I am defiantly a mama bear.  I give my kids independence so they can grow and become their own person but I’m always watching to make sure they are safe.  If I were to ever see cubs playing in the woods, I most certainly would get out of the area as quickly as possible because you know mama bear isn’t far behind if she fears you will hurt her cubs.  Mama bears are smart and protective, and from my experience, many human moms are the same way.

Do You Know Your "Mom Spirit Animal"?Of course being a human mama bear means we not only have to keep our cubs safe from danger but we also have to protect them from yucky viruses and bacteria lurking around.  The last thing any of us want is to see our kids sick in bed with the flu, a cold or any other virus for that matter.  It never fails if one person gets sick the whole house gets sick, especially the children. Which is why we use Lysol!

My Mom’s spirit animal would have been a cat, she was ver aloof. She’s no longer with us now though.
