I honestly can’t remember a time when there hasn’t been a dog in my life. Growing up we always had plenty of animals but none were as faithful and dependable as our dogs. I remember growing up my dog buddy would walk us down the to the bus stop and wait for us to get on the bus before we would head home. Oh, and don’t you know when the school bus pulled up she was sitting at the bus stop waiting for us. I’m not sure how she knew when to the at the bus stop every single day but she did. Dogs are truly amazing and they love you no matter what kind of day you are having, they don’t tell you secrets and they want nothing more than to be by your side.
I’m sure many of you have seen Skittles in several of my posts. I’ve had this guy longer than I have had my children. He’s getting to be older and gosh he has made my life happier in so many different ways. He has been beside me through thick and thin.
It went from being just him and I to a family almost overnight he had three children permanently living in his home. He loves the kids as much as I do and even though they’ve dressed him up, made him wear hats and do things he really didn’t want to, I know if anything ever happened he would be the first one to try and protect them. He is such a special part of my life. I can’t count the times I’ve cried to him, told him my secrets, and celebrated different events in our lives with a car ride and some Milk Bones.
Skittles has been my partner in crime for years. We’ve gone through so much together and he has been there for me every step of the way. I truly don’t know what I would have done all these years without him. He is my best friend and a member of my family.
Dogs are never, just dogs. They play such a significant role in our lives. They are not a statue that just sits next to us, they are our friends, partners in crime, and there for us when we feel like the world has abandoned us. It’s never just walking, it’s a journey and they help us heal when we need them the most.
Milk-Bone knows that dogs are more than just dogs and is taking a cue from their dogs by making threats that always do more. What was once a treat has turned into an opportunity to care. It’s inspired Milk-Bone to do more.
This year our friends at Milk-Bone are celebrating their 20th Anniversary with Canine Assistants which is a non-profit organization that works to train and provides services dogs to children and adults who have physical disabilities and special needs. To celebrate Milk Bone’s 20th Anniversary with Canine Assistants they have created an amazingly heartwarming video that showcases some of the dogs and their parents they have helped over the years. They wanted to show everyone just how special dogs are, and just how dogs do more.
Take a moment and watch this awesome video about a few special dogs and how they are transforming lives.
