The other day I sent my daughter to school with one of her favorite’s – The Tuna Boat Sandwich, lol. It’s super cute, totally fun, and according to my daughter all the kids loved it. Between you and I this is the very first time I’ve sent the Tuna Boat Sandwich to school because it’s normally a summer sandwich due to its messy status lol.
Easy & Fun Back To School Lunch Idea – Tuna Boat Sandwich
Creating an easy and fun back to school Tuna Boat Sandwich is super easy.
You’ll need
- 1 Slice of your child’s favorite cheese
- Celery Stick
- Tuna – made the way your child likes it
- Goldfish Crackers
- Sub Sandwich Bread
Now it’s time to create the Tuna Boat Sandwich, which is something you’ll likely want to teach your child because they will need to put it together at school.
- First you’ll fill your sub with tuna.
- Cut the cheese into two pieces by folding them over into two pieces to look like sails on a boat.
- Cut a piece of celery to hold up your cheese sails.
- Next place your piece of celery in the middle of the sandwich and the two pieces of cheese in front of the celery stick to hold them up.
- Add a few swimming Goldfish Crackers.
- Enjoy your easy and fun Tuna Boat Sandwich.

Thank you for sharing and this sounds like something Chris would love.
We are always looking for different ways to entertain the grand kids at lunchtime!
What a lovely idea! I’d definitely be waiting for lunch time more with this decoration.

This is such a cute idea. I am sure all the kids loved this. Thank you so much for sharing
LOL, that is so cute! I think I would feel bad eating the fishes 🙂 Love this.
I love tuna salad. I would worry about letting a sandwich with mayo sit, unless using an insulated lunch bag, of course. That’s cute the way you put the tuna boat together.
What a lovely idea! I know that kids are more likely to eat food that looks like fun 🙂
YES, that’s what I have learned about my kids… If it is fun, they will eat it lol.. Veggies and all
