I’ve always kept my hair shorter, so things like a messy double braid have been out of the question.  Well, unless I wanted to do that tiny ponytail holder thing at the end lol.  Lucky for me, my daughter Vayda has been letting her hair grow out, and it’s LONG!  Which means I get to play with her hair and teach her different things I have learned over the years.  Vayda is young, but for as long as I can remember she has LOVED doing hair and you know she is not bad at it.  You know how some people are just born and can do something without much effort?  Don’t worry I don’t have one either, buy my mom had sled said I was born to argue and always have to win, lol.  Well, Vayda has always loved the hair and the older she gets, the better she is at it.  I swear it just comes naturally to her, it’s crazy.

Summer is right around the corner which means it’s going to warm up.  AWESOME, right!  Well, I guess that depends on where you live.  Let me tell you something; southern New Mexico isn’t the best of places to be in the summer!  It gets HOT which is a lot of the reason I have always kept my hair shorter.  Short hair has its ups and downs I have without a doubt missed all the summer hairstyles people with long hair get to wear.

Until today, I hadn’t thought about trying a messy double braid.  Honestly, I probably never would have thought about it, but I’m glad I ran into it because it’s a great summer hairstyle for those of you with long hair, like Vayda.  It will help keep you cooler and get that hair out of your face, but it will still look fabulous.  I love that the whole messy hairstyles are in, I’ve been doing them for years lol.
