So it is breakfast time and you want eggs. Grab the frying pan, the spatula, the butter…WAIT! No more. Now when you want eggs all you need to grab is your Rollie™. Yep, that’s it. Kalorik®, the company who has brought you many kitchen items before, such as blenders, coffee makers, and toasters, now brings you the Rollie™. The Rollie™ is the fast and simple way to make eggs, plus so much more.
The Rollie™ is a vertical grill. It comes with an instruction booklet that includes several recipes too. The Rollie™ also includes a very handy cleaning brush with sponge, wood skewers, and a packer. The Rollie™ is very simple to use too. You just plug it in, let it warm for a few minutes and then begin putting in the ingredients to whatever you’re making.
The first time I used the Rollie™, I decided to make a simple omelet. I used two large eggs, some broccoli, and cheese.
First I sprayed the inside of the Rollie™ with a non-stick spray. It is very important that you do this each time you use the Rollie™. I cracked the eggs, one at a time, into the Rollie™. Next, I added some cheese to the eggs and then threaded the broccoli onto a skewer and put it down into the eggs. Now it was just time to wait.
This recipe only took six minutes to be done. Once whatever you’re making is starting to finish, it begins to rise out of the top of the Rollie™. I must admit, it was fun to watch.
I pulled my omelet out of the Rollie™. Yes, it looked a little funny as I’m not used to eating cylindrical food, however, it smelled wonderful. I was very anxious to try it.
You can see the cheese melted nicely and since I skewered the broccoli, it ran through the entire omelet. Now for a bite, yum! The taste completely matched the delicious smell. The eggs were cooked through. This was a very good omelet.
In the recipe booklet are numerous different recipes to try with your Rollie™.
As you can see by the recipes, The Rollie™ can be used with ingredients other than just eggs. If you’re using tortillas, it is recommended that you cut them to a size of 4” x 6”. To help you, there is a guide for the size on the back of the booklet. Biscuit dough, cinnamon roll dough, and even wonton wrappers can be used too, along with a variety of meats, veggies, and cheeses. Really your imagination is the only limitation.
I also decided to make my version of Rollie’s™ Greek Tortilla. I used pita bread instead of a tortilla and in addition to the feta, I added some cheddar cheese. It turned out nicely. The cheese was melted perfectly. The pita was a great alternative to the tortilla and contained the eggs and cheese wonderfully.
