My youngest son is a die-hard action figure collector and we are always looking for something fun and unique to add to his collection. When I had the opportunity to review Nano Metalfigs, I knew they would be perfect for his growing collection.
Jada Toys, headquartered in Industry, CA, is a toy manufacturer known for their highly collectible, extremely detailed dice-cast vehicles. Founded in 1999, they are also a pioneer in radio control technology due to the 2009 launch of their Battle Machines. The company was mainly known as a boy’s vehicle company until 2011 when they diversified their product selection by adding Hello Kitty playsets. The next year, Jada Toys received the brand top-selling fashion doll of the year honor after launching “Cutie Pops” dolls. In 2015, after obtaining licenses from major companies such as Marvel and Disney, they began producing die-cast figures and it quickly became their fastest growing lines of product.
Nano Metalfigs are 100% die-cast figures that stand 1.65″ tall. They each weigh around 30 grams, which is equivalent to five quarters giving them that unique die-cast feel. The figures are available individually or in 5, 10, and 20-packs and the prices is very reasonable at just under a dollar per figure. Nano MetalFigs feature authentic character likeness and many have dynamic poses. Currently, Jada toys offers MetalFigs in the following lines:
- Disney Pixar: Toy Story
- Marvel: Spider-Man, Guardians, Avengers
- DC Comics: Batman
- Harry Potter
- Street Fighter
I received the Marvel Spider-Man 5-Pack, the Harry Potter 5-Pack A, and the Disney/Pixar 5-Pack B to review. Each pack includes 5-different figures, all finely sculpted and with premium metallic paints.
These figures are a collector’s dream. Though they are tiny in size, they have incredible details and vivid paint. The color of the feet on each figure blends with the base which is a nice touch. One great thing about Nano Metalfigs, is that they appeal to collectors of all ages. They are small enough that they can be displayed nicely on the desk or shelf without taking up too much room. You can also see the exceptional quality and great attention to detail in each and every figure.
My son loves these figures. He enjoys displaying them with his other figures, but he also spends plenty of time playing with them. Sometimes, it is the Nano Metalfigs vs. his other toys and other times he has Spider-Man battle Harry Potter. The Nano Metalfigs will definitely make great stocking stuffers and inexpensive gifts for any occasion. I am hoping Jada Toys expands their character line. I would love to see some girly characters such as Disney Princesses.
Jada Toys also offers Nano Scenes for their Nano Metalfigs. Each detailed diorama comes with accessories such as furniture and two figures. Currently, they offer the Gryffindor Tower Nano Scene and the DC Comics – Batcave. These are great for inspiring imaginative play.
You can find Nano Metalfigs at Target, Toys R Us and Walmart.
