A Happy Fathers Day wish from us to you! We Wish You The Very Best Fathers Day … Create The Memories That Last A Lifetime, and we hope you find a great way to make dad feel speical on Father’s Day!
As a tribute to all the Dads we wanted to come up with a few great quotes to get your Fathers Day started!!!
Here we go:
- What Is A Dad?
A dad is someone who
wants to catch you before you fall
but instead picks you up,
brushes you off,
and lets you try again.
A dad is someone who
wants to keep you from making mistakes
but instead lets you find your own way,
even though his heart breaks in silence
when you get hurt.
A dad is someone who
holds you when you cry,
scolds you when you break the rules,
shines with pride when you succeed,
and has faith in you even when you fail…
- My father gave me the greatest gift anyone could give another person, he believed in me.
– Jim Valvano
- The greatest thing a FATHER can do for his children, is to love their mother.
– Anjaneth Garcia Untalan
- It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father.
– Pope John XXIII
- I cannot think of any need in childhood as strong as the need for a father’s protection.
Father’s Day Gift Ideas Special In Different Ways
Father’s Day is just around the corner, which means it’s time to put on those thinking caps. Every 3rd Sunday in June the world stops and allows each one of us to spend time with dad. Father, dad, pops, old man, who, and poppi are just a few nicknames that come to mind. The only trouble with father’s day seems to be the ‘perfect’ gift that no one can seem to find! Whatever you do though …..don’t even think about getting him a tie—30% of dads report that a tie is what they want least. This Father’s Day, impress Dad by knowing just what he wants.
Father’s Day Facts
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Father’s Day was conceived by Sonora Dodd of Spokane, Wash., while she listened to a Mother’s Day sermon in 1909. She wanted a special day to honor her father, William Smart, a widowed Civil War veteran who was left to raise his six children on a farm.
Father’s Day has now become a day to not only honor your father, but all men who act as a father figure. This list includes stepfathers, uncles, grandfathers, and adult male friends are now all honored on Father’s Day.
Here are some interesting facts about today’s fathers in America:
- There are an estimated 64.3 million fathers across our nation; 26.5 million of them are part of married-couple families with children younger than 18 and 2.5 million are single fathers.
- There are an estimated 159,000 stay-at-home dads; 60 percent had two or more children.
- Roses are the official flower for fathers; red roses for fathers who are living and white roses for those who have died.
- Two of every three children younger than age six living with married parents eat dinner with their fathers every day.
Father’s Day Versus Mother’s Day Facts
Forget for a moment that facts tell us that we spend 40% more on Mother’s Day than Father’s Day. The amount consumers spend on Father’s Day gifts has been significantly less than the average spent on Mother’s Day. This year, the average spending on fathers day gifts is expected to be around $120, compared with $ 169 for mothers day. These stats come courtesy of the National Retail Federation.
There are a number of reasons for this. The one that heads the list is the fact that many dads just don’t know what they want and would rather their kids keep their money. In any event, it’s commonplace for kids to have no clue what to buy. That seems just fine with many fathers.
A recent survey found that the most popular “gift,” chosen by 43% of dads, was “quality time with family (dinner, grilling, outing) for Father’s Day.” The second-most popular option was for no gift whatsoever—chosen by 22% of fathers. In at a distant third place was a gift card, selected by 13% of dads.
The message most dads are sending is this: “Please, don’t waste your money on me.” As a father and someone who knows his father pretty well, I can attest that we actually mean it!
The Number One Father’s Day Gift
One of the most important things you can do for your dad on Father’s day is to take a moment and let him know how he has transformed your life. So many times in life we think that a material gift is in order but as we already have learned that is not the case. The kids making a card for dad might be tops until they can truly express their love and consideration through words.
The main thing ALL fathers want, is to know that their children are safe and that in some way they have had a positive impact on their kids life. Once you have had the opportunity to mush dad up on his special day then the following is simply icing on the cake!
Father’s Day Is A Day To Find Time To Spend With Dad
Since June is chock full of plentiful sunshine the idea to have a cookout is tops on the list. Even though dad gets to do the grilling this is no work at all. This is something that every father enjoys doing and when the family is involved it becomes a special time.
Tickets to a movie are always a great idea where you can spend quality time. You have the movie for your enjoyment and further discussion about how you thought the movie might end. The evening can always be topped off with a visit to the local ice cream shop for a delicious snack and a day filled with memories that will last a lifetime.
If those ideas didn’t catch your fancy then sit back and let the following entertain your curiosity.
Healthy Father’s Day Gifts Ideas
Give dad the gift of health! Depending on what type of things your dad likes a few ideas that come to mind are along the healthy variety.
A new pair of running shoes if dad is the variety that likes to take a run. A new bike is perfect for the dad that is bound and determined to keep in shape but is starting to complain of too many aches and pains. A bike is perfect in preserving his joints for years to come and yet give him that workout that he feels he needs.
It is always a perfect time of the year, no matter where you live in the United States, to get dad something related to golf. An inexpensive tool that he can add that pays forward for years to come is a ball extension retriever. It fits comfortably in any golf bag and rewards him many times over for that errant tee shot.
The same can be said for fishing. A new lure you heard him talk about or a visit to the local bait shop will clue you in. A new rod and reel may also be in line with more and more business competing in the field of outdoors activities.
The perfect topper to any of the above is to participate in the chosen field of endeavor with your dad. Spending quality time with him while he is doing something that he enjoys is another way to let him know how much you love him especially if you have trouble letting him know through your words. Actions have always spoken louder than words!
Chances are, Dad will break out the grill sometime this summer, so offer him healthier grilling options. A healthy grilling cookbook is loaded with delicious, healthy recipes and general health tips for beginning grillers or for the seasoned pro.
Bad Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Bearing in mind that most fathers truly don’t want much of anything for Fathers Day here is a short list of what NOT to get dad.
- stuff that serves no real function
- stuff that is too cutesy
- anything that will require him to do work on this day (grilling is NOT work)
- tools he already owns
- gadgets that take 15 minutes to explain their use
- stuff that says he is really old
- anything that will humiliate him (see above)
Practical Father’s Day Gift Ideas
Anything to go with the grill outside from new cookware, utensils or if the siblings are in agreement a new grill altogether.
A new razor or numerous razor blades along with some aftershave lotion will always come in handy.
If dad is a reader get him a new best seller or better yet find him a book with general interests like his own. With the internet these days it is so simple to search a place like Barnes and Noble for a best seller or break down the categories into his personal interests and go from there!
Happy Father’s Day Pops!

Hi….my name is Jeffrey Burns. I am married and have 4 beautiful kids.
I am an avid entrepreneur at heart which to me simply means I have chosen to make my own way in life, pursue my own dreams, and by doing so I hope to help others along this road we call life!
I see a world of people starving to find their own dreams yet unwilling or unable to pursue them. I see the World Wide Web as a source in which to accomplish this journey. This internet marvel, still a teenager, has intrigued me for quite some time. Its power, its magnitude, its reach. The ability to begin to appreciate that thought and pursue its very existence has driven me here today.
I enjoy helping others find their way online and work daily to improve who I am as a person. I accomplish this by listening to an audio of value, watching a video of substance, and reading a book of like minded people. I then teach these lessons learned through blogs or by video. It is a transformational process once you can make this a basic daily habit of your life.
To make a difference in ones life … that may be the most rewarding thing that I can offer. I pray that it lasts a lifetime!
