How to find a doctor? Sure finding doctors sounds easy, but it’s not. Not for me anyway! I have struggled finding the right doctor a time or two. Typically I would shuffle through the phonebook looking for an Ophtha- what’s that kind of doctor called again?
Have you ever Googled “how to find a doctor”? Try it, when I type “how to find a doctor” on Google search, the second listing is Healthgrades.com. Which is awesome, it’s actually the reason for this post, and a website that I have used to find doctors in my hometown.
Healthgrades was founded in 1998, and you will find their headquarters in Denver, Colorado. They are the leading online resource when it comes to comprehensive information about doctors, dentists and hospitals. Healthgrades is a tool for us to compare, evaluate, connect, sleet, and communicate with doctors, dentists, and hospitals that meet our needs. They also have the Healthgrades 2013 Women’s Health Report, which is full of useful information when it comes to women’s health.
I have used Healthgrades to find my kids primary care physician. Why? Being a parent we want the best physician for our children. Healthgrades allows me to view the information I need to make a sound decision for my kids.
Shawn and I also found our current primary care physician using the information provided on Healthgrades. We both feel he is a good doctor, and the information was accurate. I have even shared my experiences with doctors on Healthgrades in hopes I can help others who are in search of the right doctor.
Wondering how I found Healthgrades? I first stumbled upon Healthgrade.com while looking for doctors in my town. Used the website, made an account and it’s been my go-to website for doctor information since then. It truly is an amazing website for anyone searching for doctors, dentists, or hospitals while at home, or on vacation.
If you’re wondering how Healthgrades helps you find the right doctor, dentist or hospital I will explain how it works. They provide consumers with more than 1,000,000 free online physician profiles. Physicians can update their profiles in real-time to be sure we have the most recent information. It’s an easy to use tool for consumers looking for information on a certain doctor, or browse all doctors by specialty.
When you first visit Healthgrades you will notice you’re able to search for physicians by name or specialty. Once you view the search results you will notice information that matters: specialty areas, patient satisfaction rates, healthcare plans accepted, years in practice, hospital affiliations, office locations, and more.
Once you narrow your search down, and view a specific doctor, go a step further and check out sanctions, malpractice, board actions, awards and recognitions, languages, background, hospital quality, patient satisfaction, and appointments and offices. Oh, you can also view address, phone number, insurances accepted, learn more about where you’ll be treated, find driving directions, and schedule an appointment. It’s the only way to search for a doctors for the people who matter most.
Searching for a dentist you’ll also find the same wealth of information. I have never used to website to search for a hospital. We have one hospital, so I have never needed to use it. However I did visit the hospital search for this post. I was provided the same wealth of information: type of facility, Healthgrades ratings, distance, star ratings, affiliated providers, and more.
If you’re wondering how to find a doctors, dentists or hospital Healthgrades is the way to go. They provide consumers with all the information needed to make the right choice for our family. I appreciate the wealth of information, and the how easy it is to find it. Oh, and tell me it doesn’t beat flipping through the phonebook trying to find a cardio, oh man what’s that doctor called again.
Healthgrades is a website that I appreciate, it’s helped me find the doctors when I need them for the past two years, and I recommend it to my family and friends. Thanks for the info. Luckily I have a good doctor that I’ve been with for years. Who knows, he may retire or we may move. Finding a good doctor is daunting. When we are in a new area I’d always flip through the phone book and cross my fingers. Then start interviews. It’s kinda like looking for a babysitter or contractor!
it really is… they are soo important expecially for the kids
It is always hard to find one that you trust
My husband and I finally got a doctor within 25Kilometers of home.We were on a list to on the computer for over a year to get a doctor. Before that we were driving 100 kilometeres from home.

It is great to see ratings for health care practitioners, but sometimes it is difficult to find a doctor at all !
Great review! I have Googled many times looking for that Dr. that’s right for me. It is important to me since I have M.S. that my Dr. is experienced & knowledgeable is this field. I do have a fantastic Dr. Now we are in search of a different Dr. for the kids. The Dr. they have seems to be too busy & a bit cold at times.
