Have you thought much about which vitamins you should consider taking this spring?  Vitamins are a great way to give your nutritional intake a boost. Thankfully cold and flu season is behind us and we can look forward to warmer more active days. Which is why one might consider taking different vitamins during the spring than they take during the fall and winter months.

Like many other Americans, I’m suffering from lack of energy, especially during the spring months. I don’t know if it is because I’m pushing myself to do more, and trying to keep up with my super active children who are pumped because they can finally spend time outside playing on the slip and side, trampoline and everything else they have.

Spring is one of my favorite times of year.

  • Vitamin E – Vitamin E is great for helping your complexion. You can get Vitamin E from nuts, vegetable oils, olives, and of course a Vitamin E supplement.
  • B-complex – B-complex is an amazing combination of eight B vitamins – B1 all the way thought B9 and B12. All of these help the body to convert food into fuel and helps red blood cells form. Your red blood cells are used to deliver oxygen to the body, which also helps give the body energy.
  • Vitamin C – Do you get allergies in the spring and summer months? Vitamin C contains ascorbic acid and it can help to revive your sweat glands. I know, gross sweat glands, but we all have them and Vitamin C works as a natural antihistamine.
  • Iron – Iron can help your body get much needed oxygen throughout the bloodstream. If your body is running low on Iron your body may be making fewer red blood cells, which is where anemia comes in. Your body needs healthy red blood cells to make certain your body gets enough oxygen.

As many of you might know we choose to get our vitamins at Walgreens not only because it’s convenient, but I’m helping a child in need with every vitamin and supplement purchased.

There are millions of children in the world who are suffering from “hidden hunger” and lacking micronutrients. When children are lacking micronutrients, they are more susceptible to disease and even death.

Did you know that 45% of childhood deaths are attributable to under-nutrition? Which is why Walgreens is giving a portion of all vitamins retail sales to the wonderful Vitamin Angels. They are doing this to help 100 million children here in the United States and abroad get the vitamins they so desperately need to live well.
