I am a Verizon Wireless Lifestyle Blogger, I received a Windows Phone Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon Wireless for review purposes.  All opinions are 100% my own.  We will never recommend anything to our readers we would not use ourselves.

Fourteen Reasons To Love The Windows Phone Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon WirelessIf you know me, you know I love smartphones, tablets, computers, laptops, and just about any other gadget you can think of.  To be honest, I already knew I was going to fall for the Nokia Lumia Icon.  You might remember, my previous device was the Nokia Lumia 928 from Verizon.   Of course, the Nokia Lumia Icon is available at Verizon, and if you follow the blog you already know I love Verizon Wireless.  I have been a loyal, 100% happy customer of theirs for over 10 years, and do not see things changing.  The gizmos and gadgets keep getting cooler, and the customer service is always great. Anyway, let’s get back to this fine device, and a few of the many reasons to love Windows Phone Nokia Lumia Icon from Verizon Wireless.

Fourteen Reasons to Love Windows Phone Nokia Lumia Icon

Windows Phone Nokia Lumia IconNokia Lumia Icon Looks Sharp

The Nokia Lumia is a sharp device, with the best camera available on a smartphone today.  I am not disappointed one bit, if you love the world of photography it’s a must.  The front of the Nokia Lumia Icon is beautiful, with the 5 inch 1920 x 1080 pixels Gorilla Glass make it a stunning device.  All controls on housed on the right side of the device, leaving the left side open and perfect for propping up on the left side to watch movies, or take pictures.  The controls housed on the right side are the power button, volume up and down, and the designated camera button.  You will also find a microUSB port at the bottom of the device, along with the headphone jack.

The device is a matte plastic material, and it looks sharp like all the other Nokia Lumia devices.  The black matte plastic is scratch resistant, and make the device look sharp.  Of course, the Verizon 4G LTE is located on the back of the device alone with the Nokia labeling, which are my two of my favorites in the smartphone world working together to create this amazing device.

The Nokia Lumia Icon features Nokia’s CleanBlack polarization so users can see better outside in the sun.

It’s Comfy

The Lumia Icon fits comfortably in my hand, and all controls are located on the right side of the device making them all in one place, and easy to get to.  My kids always stream movies on my device from time to time, they will prop the device up on the left side, and have easy access to they controls if needed.  My 7 year old daughter actually noticed this first, lol.

Windows Phone Apps

Get Live Apps update in real-time, so all the information you want and need is on your Start screen.  There are several great apps, which are only compatible with the Nokia Lumia’s, and they are some of my favorite.

Windows Phone Apps Are Certified by Microsoft

Did you know all apps, YES EVERY SINGLE Windows Phone app and game is tested and certified by Microsoft?  I appreciate Microsoft tests and certifies an app before placing it in the store and allowing Windows Phone users to download.  Which, is just another reason I love Windows Phones!

Personalized Recommendations from the Windows Phone App Store

Plus, you can get personalized recommendations because only the Windows Phone store gets to know you and the type of apps you like so it can provide you with a personal recommendation.  Oh, and who can go without mentioning the try before yo buy option!  Try it, if you like it buy it, and if you do not like the app you are not out any money.

There are tons of apps in the Windows Phone app stores; The Windows Phone app stores is continues to grow, bringing more apps for our Nokia

Capture images with one of the most powerful cameras in the world of smartphones, and features Zeiss optics. The staggering 20-megapixel camera delivers incredibly sharp images in both light and dark environments. Reframe and zoom into pictures after you’ve taken them.

If you have not used a Lumia and you love photography you are really missing out.  The Lumia’s have the best camera of any smartphone, and the Lumia Icon 20 megapixel camera is fabulous.  I have taken hundreds of pictures, and each time I am amazed by the picture quality.  The Lumia Icon takes great pictures in just about any lighting.  I am impressed time and time again with how sharp the images turn out.  I have shared several different images I have taken using the Nokia Lumia Icon, most of them are unedited and taken using the automatic settings.

Record full HD video with stellar visual and audio quality, which is all thanks to the Nokia PureView imaging can get you closer to the action.   The Nokia Lumia has four high-performance microphones and Nokia Rich Recording combine to capture true stereo sound with amazing accuracy and reduced background noise.  If you take videos using your smartphone, you will love the using the Icon for making your next video.

I was not going to mention individual apps, but this Nokia Camera truly deserves it.  With features like manual focus, shutter speed controls, white balance, and exposure which are super easy to access, use and even switch back and forth between Auto and Pro modes.   There isn’t a whole lot that beats having a camera capable of such amazing shots in your pocket or handbag.  Plus, it sure more convenient than lugging around a big camera to get good shots.

Battery, Battery, Battery

Do you remember that device that you could not get to stay charged a full 24 hours?  Yes, me too and it sure was not the Nokia Lumia Icon, because this bad boy has yet to last less than 24 hours, and I snap pictures, have Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, three email accounts, and other feeds synced to my device, and I am yet to kill the Lumia Icon in one single day.  I am sure it could be done, but I haven’t done it, and my phone is always busy doing something. Love the battery life.

Another features I am enjoying is the Qi wireless charging.  It is extremely convenient, now I can just lay my device down in the office and allow it to change.   I know I should have tried this a long time ago, but I didn’t realize how much easier it is.  Anyway, LOVE wireless charging.

Live Tiles made a little extra room

One of my favorite things about Windows Phone is the Live Tiles, and the Nokia Lumia Icon comes equipped with Live Tiles, and more of them.  There is now three columns for Live Tiles, rather than two.  I can fit everything I need, and then some.

Verizon Coverage Rocks, Like Always

Plus, Verizon LTE coverage is always solid, regardless of where I am, or where I am planning to travel.

The Nokia Lumia Icon specifications –  Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core 2.2 GHz processor, 32GB of internal storage, 2 GB of RAM, an amazing 5 inch 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution screen, 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n/ WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0 + LTE, 2,420 mAh battery, and it’s dimensions are 137 x 71 x 9.8 mm and 167 grams.

Before this my Nokia Lumia 928 was my favorite device, but not anymore thanks to the Nokia Lumia Icon.  However, the Lumia 928 is still a great device and I would happily carry it around.

Windows, Nokia Lumia Icon, and Verizon Wireless! It’s a friendship that should never end!

I had a Windows phone for about a year and a half. I LOVED the camera! It was the best phone camera ever, the picture colors were almost always accurate. Unfortunately, my particular phone was gliche-y in other areas and drove me crazy. I finally had to change. My husband had the same phone though and had no problems at all.
