I love a good cupcake recipe, and while I personally didn’t create these, I’m excited to share them with you.

Below are step-by-step directions so you can create your very own ghostbuster cupcake topping!

  • Cupcake Ingredients:
  • 1 box of chocolate cake mix
  • oil
  • water
  • eggs
  • Frosting Ingredients:
  • 1 C unsalted sweet cream butter softened
  • 3 C powder sugar
  • 1 TSP vanilla
  • 3-5 TBSP heavy whipping cream
  • 3 drops of leaf green food coloring
  • Ghost Ingredients (Transfer Ingredients):
  • 4 egg whites
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tarter
  • 3 C of powder sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • red and black food coloring


Directions for cupcakes:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Line cupcake pan with liners

Make mix based on box directions

Bake for 20 minutes and then set aside to cool

Directions for Frosting:

Combine all ingredients except the food coloring in a standing mixing bowl.

mix until well combined and stiff.

Add in the food coloring.

Add frosting to a piping bag with a star tip.

Directions for Ghost (Ghost Transfers):

Combine all ingredients in a standing mixing bowl and mix on medium speed.

After a few minutes & icing starts to look like a light yellow thick soup, add in 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Continue to mix until icing is thick and stiff

Split the icing into 3 bowls.

Add red food coloring to one bowl, black to the second, and leave the third white.

Add icing to 3 different piping bags with a number 2 tip.

On a cookie sheet, lay out a piece of parchment paper.

On a black sheet of paper, draw out the GhostBuster symbol.

Place that sheet of paper under the parchment paper.

Using the black piping bag, outline the ghost.

Using the red piping bag, outline and fill in the red part, like shown in the in-process picture

Using white, fill in the ghost.

Let the air dry for 8–10 hours or over night.

Place onto freshly frosted cupcakes.
