This post is sponsored, and the sponsor is awesome! We are super excited to be part of this campaign, but as always all our opinions and loving for the GoldieBlox is 100% our own!
When I was a little girl I didn’t play with dolls, or care too much about hair and makeup. I was too busy doing other things that I enjoyed doing. Whether it was riding my horse, climbing a tree, or playing in the dirt I has enjoyed my childhood. I was told from a very young age I could do whatever I wanted to do, and be whatever I wanted to be.
With three girls, raising them to be strong is important, but I also want them to understand they can do whatever they want to do. My youngest daughter races go-carts with a bunch of boys, and she loves it, but there was a time she told us she didn’t want to do it anymore because it was for boys. We nipped that right away, pulled her aside and explained to her she could do anything she wanted to do; just the same, as those boys can do anything they want to do. If she enjoys racing and wearing pink, then so be it. Without a doubt, we will be her biggest fans, and support her 100% of the time, as long as she is willing to work to keep her cart running. That’s our rule, we’re there to support you 100% if you’re willing to put the work in.
I love having girls, because my girls will rock a pink dress with the best of them, but the second you turn around they’re climbing a tree, jumping in the mud, and my youngest daughter has always love to build things. You can watch her; she likes to figure out how things fit together, and try to come up with new ways to make things work. Mattie has been outside with her dad since she was itty-bitty. I remember putting her out here in her walker, and the older she gets the more interested she becomes. This summer we bought her a go-cart, because she wanted to race it at the tack, and I admit I was surprised, but she helped dad 75% of the time, which is great for as young as she is. Paying attention to anything that long is awesome.
I have been excited to share this with you, I would have already done so, but I had to wait for my husband to get back into town, because I forgot my camera in his truck when he left town last week. It’s been hard, but I have managed, and learned a very valuable lesson, to NEVER leave my camera in the car, even if it’s only going to be for a few minutes, because it’s easy to forget and makes work hard, lol. Okay, so now for the good stuff – have you hear of GoldieBlox? Oh, don’t worry if you haven’t we’re going to tell you all about her, and point you in the right direction to learn more, because we want little girls all over to have the opportunity to meet GoldieBlox.
I had the opportunity to learn more about GoldieBlox, and once we received, our package with GoldieBlox inside I couldn’t wait to see what Mattie and Vayda thought. I truly enjoyed learning the story behind Goldie Blox, the team from Goldie Blox is super pumped, and has great plan for the future. There was a lot of research, interviews, articles, and even playtime put into making GoldieBlox.
GoldieBlox is awesome, she’s a problem solver, and if you pay attention she can help you build some pretty awesome things. I don’t know who was me excited about reading one of the GoldieBlox books, me or Mattie, lol.
The first book we read was GoldieBlox and the Parade Float, which is fun. After learning about GoldieBlox, and having heard her story, it was awesome to finally meet her, and introduce her to Mattie. GoldieBlox is an amazing problems solver, and she has a way of getting children to help her, and bringing the story to life by have your child stop, and helps her build something. They have to be careful, and pay close attention to the blueprints GoldieBlox drew for them. Mattie enjoyed the book form the beginning, but this is where she fell in love with GoldieBlox, because she got to stop and help her build something. She wouldn’t let me help her either, I had to sneak in and help, lol. Well, I was looking forward to GoldieBlox too, lol.
Anyway, the book was a blast, and I wanted to read the other one, but Matte wanted to wait for her dad. While she was waiting for her dad to get home she flipped to the back pages of the book we just read and started trying to build some of the designs on the back of the book, and she asked me what it said on the top of the page. So I told her it says, Check out Goldie’s new design ideas. Go ahead and try them. Find more and share yours at goldieblox.com.” It took her a minute, and then out of the blue she asked me if she could build something by herself and send it to GoldieBlox. Oh, man this made her wheels start spinning, she even got up to get a drink of water.
When she got back I was talking to her about the other book, and telling her how much fun she will have with her dad, and she tells me that her dad is going to have to build his own racecar, and she is going to build her own castle, and she start telling me how many rooms it’s gong to have, there will be the horse in the front yard, and just going on and on. I love hearing her say this, because when we were learning about GoldieBlox someone even said they wanted GoldieBlox to help girls see that they could build their own castle! GoldieBlox products are AWESOME, we love them, and think you’re little inventors will too.
Right now GoldieBlox has three award-winning products on the market, which are:
