My kids started school last week and we wanted to do a little celebrating with this fun grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich recipe! There is both ups and downs when it comes the way I feel about my kids heading back to school. Regardless of how feel about the situation I still have to come up with fun lunchbox ideas as well as afterschool snack ideas that the kids like. Thanks to our friends at Smucker’s we not only sent the kids to school with their favorite peanut butter and jelly sandwich for the first day of school, but we were able to celebrate with a twist on the traditional PB&J sandwich. My kids and husband LOVE the Grilled Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich.
Vayda, Mattie and Bud started school last week and I wanted to send them with something they liked as well as surprise them with a fun afterschool snack to celebrate their first day of school. Since the kids LOVE their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches I used each of their favorite Smucker’s Preserves and of course Jif Peanut Butter.
Thankfully, Smucker’s offers a nice variety of flavors, so all of my kids are happy with their lunch and of course the fun twist on the traditional peanut butter and jelly they all requested as an afterschool/work snack – the fabulous grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
Smucker’s has always been my favorite fruit spread, because I can always count on their authentic tastes and awesome variety in flavor to make everyone in the house happy. Which doesn’t happen without variety, there is 7 of us, lol. It’s funny because I expect my kids to love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but when my husband requests them alongside the kids it’s an awesome reminder of just how important it is to bond with our children. It’s almost like watching cartoons together, we get to feel young aside from our children for that moment.
Even though we make the grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich, the best ever is the traditional PB & J because it helps remind me we’re only as old as we feel. Whether it’s making my kids have their best day back PB & J or their best every after school snack PB & J, it helps me to stop for a moment and enjoy the little things in life, like sitting down for a PB & J with my kids the way my parents did with us when we were young.
Some may think the PB & J is just a PB & J, but when it’s with quality ingredients and your favorite flavor of Smucker’s preserves it transforms into #MyPBJMoment!
Thanks to our friends at Smuckers we were able to celebrate the kids’ first day back to school with their favorite sandwich in their lunch box and a fancy twist on the traditional PB&J – the grilled peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
