Iris And The Dragonflies,
by Rosemary Danielis
Iris And The Dragonflies is a reality based fantasy, ideal for ages 11 up. This is a super cute story about nature, friendship and the magic that surrounds us.
I loved this book it was super fun my daughter is 13 and read the book also she loved it too. Great for both age groups it took me a few nights after work to finish reading it and I had to make my daughter go to bed before I could start up again. The author of this book accomplished the task of sucking both my daughter and I in wanting more!
Iris is a pretty ordinary 11 year old until she runs across dragonflies that live in a creek and actually speak to her. From this point on we leave the normal everyday ordinary world and step foot into the wonderful fantasy world. Iris goes on a trip to meet her grandmother for the first time in Ireland, she then finds out that she possess special powers.
I do not want to tell you much more this is an amazing book that I very much enjoyed reading and I do not want to spoil it for anyone, this is a must read and if you have children 11 plus they will enjoy it also. The author of the book is a story teller one of the ones that you wish you had to tell you magical stories when you were a child. She takes things to a different world a fun world one we loose ourselves in while we are reading the book she also focuses on the mind of preteens very well and the way the book is written it is perfect for that age group it pulls you into another world but is easy to understand and the verbal pattern is perfect for that age group, my daughter was able to get sucked in, fully understand and enjoy the book just has much if not more than I did. So for that Rosemary Danielis AWESOME JOB anyone that can keep my daughters attention the way you did has a good book. There has only been one other book my daughter has read with me that was able to pull her in like that.
I asked my daughter what she enjoyed about the book and she said, “it was fun, it took me to a place I could have only dreamed of.” I could not have said it better myself the book takes you to this magical place that you would have missed had you not read the book.
I very much recommend Iris and the Dragonflies if you or your preteen are looking for a fun book read this one I think you will be very glad you did.
