Are you tired of all those plastic bags piling up in your kitchen after you do your grocery shopping, only to cart them out to the recycle bin, or return them to your grocery store? There is an answer for you to dispense with all those bags. The answer is the Grab Bag.
Just Grab it and Go
In an effort to conserve our natural resources, many establishments are going the route of using materials that are recyclable to carry the goods you purchase. Most retailers utilize a type of plastic or paper substance for this purpose. This is especially true for grocery and a host of other retail stores, who use these. While I am agreeable to use a recyclable material for this purpose, even the cost of recycling these materials can add up. What we need is a type of reusable bag that will eliminate the expensive cost of recycling. A cloth type material is more durable and stronger. An item, such as the Grab Bag, is perfect.
Many thanks to Grab Bag who allowed me to test their product.
The Grab Bag is a clip-to-cart shopping bag. The bag is reusable, has a broad base, secure flap, expandable sides and folds flat for storage. To me, the greatest benefit of this bag is the fact that it is environmentally friendly.
The Grab Bag clips easily to your shopping cart in a matter of seconds. Clipping the Grab Bag to your grocery-shopping cart keeps the bag open whereas other store bags tend to fold inward once you place an item or two in the bag. The Grab Bag has a much wider base, which keeps the bag from tipping over, as well. In fact, the bags are quite sturdy and holds the weight of several plastic bags when full of products. Furthermore, when not in use, the Grab Bag folds flat for easy storage in your glove compartment of your car, or your trunk. I have been guilty of purchasing those other bags from the grocery store, only to leave them in the garage once I have unloaded my groceries. Ultimately, I forget to take them with me the next time I go to the store. Since the Grab Bags are a compact size, after I finish emptying the bags, I fold them up and place them in my purse. The next time I use my car, I can place the Grab Bags in the glove compartment where they are readily accessible for my next shopping trip.
In addition, the Grab Bag includes a Velcro strap at the top to avoid items from spilling out while traveling contrary to the plastic bags used by most retailers. It is not a pleasant experience to arrive at your destination only to find your groceries thrown all around the trunk of your car. The Grab Bag handles are much wider than the handles of a plastic bag, and will not cut into your skin when lifting as you experience with most plastic bags.
I forgot to snap a photo of the bag attached to the grocery cart while I was in the store. However, when I returned home, I transferred my groceries to plastic bags that I had on hand, just to get an idea of exactly how many plastic bags it would take to hold the amount of groceries I had purchased on this shopping trip. Due to the weight and size of some of the products, it took four plastic bags to hold my purchases. It is not very evident, but the bottom of the Grab Bag is loaded with can goods with the lighter food products on the top. I did not utilize the Velcro to close the bag, as I did not want to crush the potato chips; however, there is plenty of room left in the bag to do so had I decided to close the bag. Moreover, my Grab Bags did not shift at all in the trunk of my car on the way home.
Another feature that I especially like about the Grab Bag, aside from the wide bottom is the fact that it has a wide pocket on the front of the bag to house your coupons, notes, your wallet, or your cell phone.
Aside from using the Grab Bags when you purchase groceries, you can use your Grab Bag for just about any other purpose you deem fit, such as storing toys, transporting laundry back and forth to the laundromat, to the beach, or library.
On occasion, your Grab Bag might get a bit dirty, but cleaning is as simple as wiping it with a damp cloth.
