I enjoy watching good wholesome cartoons and movies for kids. There are some cartoons on nowadays that make me want to scream. Seriously when did all this become okay? Yea sure some of the old cartoons were a little violent, but I personally never thought of blowing up a road runner, because the coyote a tried to do it. I knew it was supposed to be funny, and that coyotes are not really able to make a bomb, due to the fact they don’t have thumbs.
One of my all time favorite kids cartoons is the Smurf! I love them all, the little mushroom houses they live in, crazy adventures they have, and things they teach kids. The little blue Smurfs invite kids to all their adventures, sure there might be a big crazy cat that chases them, but in the end the Smurf have each others back. They care about one another, even grumpy Smurf, and that leaves me with that warm fuzzy feeling.
I also love that my kids like the Smurf as much as I did when I was their age. It’s always so fun watching episodes with my kids. Mattie likes Smurfette, Vayda likes Papa Smurf, Catie likes Grumpy Smurf, Bud likes them all, and my husband likes Brainy. It fits their personalities too, lol. Don’t tell them I said that.
I was watching cartoons with my kids the other day. I am still not sure what the name of the cartoon is, but my kids are not watching that one again. It was totally unappropriated for a 2-year-old and 7-year-old. I see that more and more with cartoons and movies for kids, they are too grown up for them, and on during peak hours. What’s up with that?
To be honest with you we spend more time watching movies for kids on Netflix or DVD than we do anything else. Which is why I’m so excited that Warner Bros Home Entertainment is bringing us The Smurfs: Smurfs to the Rescue! They have been around for a long time, and are still a good cartoon for kids. Mattie was so excited to get The Smurfs: Smurfs to the Rescue she made up a dance called, “The Smurfymoveie Dance“.
The Smurfs Save the Day is a Smurf-tastic film, filled with some Smurfy adventures, and regardless of how little the blue Smurfs are you can count on their bravery when someone is in trouble. My kids and I had a blast watching watching the Smurfs. Dad was pretty impressed too. There’s nothing like some good old Smurfs. Everyone from my teen down to my three-year old loved. While The Smurfs Save the Day was entertaining it also helps to teach important life lessons. I appreciated that my kids were not only watching a good movie for kids, but they were also learning about sharing, friendship, and helping your friends or fellow Smurfs out.
My daughter asked me how old Papa Smurf was the other day. Papa Smurf looks great for 543 years old don’t you think? I always enjoy the watching the Smurf, the trouble they get into, and smile when they get out. The Smurfs Save the Day is not any different, it’s a great movie, and not only my younger kids loved it, but my teenager, as well as this mom.
What can I say……? The Smurfs Rock, and I appreciate any kid’s movies that teach my kids valuable life lesson, while entertaining them. You too can get The Smurfs Save the Day on DVD July 16, 2013 for about $14.97 directly from WBShop.com. That’s one awesome deal for SIX episodes of The Smurfs any day of the week.
Leave me a comment and let me know which one of the Smurfs is your favorite and why?

It’s amazing how some things stay the same. I remember the Smurfs from my childhood. I’m just a fan of old shows in general. The classics.

She is so cute. This sounds like a movie my son would actually watch.
