This Mason Jar Key Lime Pie recipe and Mason Jar Cherry Pie recipes are perfect for a picnic or cookout, it’s one of my personal favorite quick and easy dessert recipes. You can really make any kind of pie you want I tend to stick with cherry pie and key lime pie in the spring and summer because I’ve always associated spring and summer with Mason Jar Key Lime Pie and Mason Jar Cherry Pie. During the fall and spring months I tend to go with a blueberry and apple pie, but it’s really a personal choice.

Mason Jar Cherry Pie REcipe

We have tons of birthdays in April and May – my daughter, mom, sister, son, myself, and don’t forget we have to squeeze Mother’s Day in there too.  I’m excited we’re heading out of town in the morning and everyone requested that I bring my Mason Jar Key Lime Pies and Mason Jar Cherry Pies for the gathering.  I guess it’s a good way to give everyone their own little pie for their birthday, lol.

Key Lime Pie in a Mason Jar

I had almost everything, except utensil’s, paper plates, graham crackers, and I don’t go anywhere without disinfectant wipes so I needed a few of those to bring along.  The last thing I wanted to do was drive across town to the grocery store, and lucky for me I didn’t have to.  When I need a few things I can drive a few miles, two miles to be exact, to my local Dollar General and save money on everything I need.

Lucky for me I was able to jump in the car and head over to Dollar General for everything I needed.  I can’t help but love saving time and money all in one trip.  Thanks Dollar General, and the pies turned out OMG GREAT!

  • In a medium sized mixing bowl combine yolks, milk, juice, and beat until smooth and creamy.  Add 2 drops green food coloring to give filling a little color (optional).
