Public Media Distribution is a leading distribution of high-quality programs for children and adults through the US and abroad. They release great content for the whole family and kids like Kate and Mim-Mim and Fortitude. They just released on March 13th, “Miffy’s Adventures Big and Small: The Great Outdoors” and we loved every minute of it. This DVD runs around 80 minutes with 11 fun-filled and cute episodes with Miffy and her awesome animal friends like Grunty, a pig, Boris, a bear and Snuffy, the sheep dog. This DVD is a great form of entertainment as we enter into Spring or any season for that matter and also helps introduce new weather concepts to our little ones who want to know more.
I love that this DVD comes with short episodes from 6-7 minutes in length each so my children can watch a few episodes during their short screen time. They have short but sweet stories about experiences and emotions that are relatable to children. This program is geared for children of preschool age, which is perfect for my home as my kids are under 5 years, but my niece and nephew at 7 and 8 years both like it too. I personally love Miffy’s cute British accent and enthusiasm. The colors and speed of the show is well-paced for young minds. I love how they mention different seasons, rain and leaves falling as well as the cold and things that come with the weather like thunder and camping outdoors or visiting animals.
This DVD was pretty fun, not only for my kids but their cousins who became fans a few DVD’s ago. Even after they were done watching the DVD they kept singing “Miffy, sweet little bunny” while running around the house, it was very cute. My son loved the episode about thunder, as he used to be scared of it just like Grunty on the show. My daughter loved the episode where they visit the zoo because it showed cute horses, chicks and other animals. All the kids loved the episode with Snuffy the sheepdog, as he was chasing the sheep back to the farm. They thought his antics were pretty fun and all four kids were laughing the whole episode.
