I love technology, and yes I allow my children to play educational apps using my smartphone, or tablet. My older children have their own mobile device, and are allowed to play educational apps that mom or dad download for them. It’s amazing to watch my 3-year-old get around on any of my devices, she cannot even read and she can maneuver around better than half the people I know. Vayda is only 7 and gets around on the mobile devices pretty well too. She’s my little artist, and is always asking me to download her new art apps when she has her online time. Luckily there are parental controls to help parents keep their kids from doing and seeing things they shouldn’t.
There is a large selection of educational apps for kids, and I enjoy allowing my kids to play them, but WOW there are some useless apps out there that I want my kids to stay away from. I seriously don’t know who in the world would play some of the apps I have seen, but I guess they do or they wouldn’t’ be there. Which is why it’s so important to me to find the right educational apps for my kids to play. I want something that I know is going to be fun for them, educational, and has some type of real world value, like the art app by Sprite Kids Mini Monet Creative Studio and Art Club for Kids.
Sprite Kids just realized a new app that allows children to have fun getting in touch with their creative side. Mini Monet Creative Studio and Art Club for Kids app for kids is available in for your iPad and iPhone, and it’s loads of fun, especially if you children love being creative. Mini Monet Creative Studio and Art Club for Kids is a great app for helping your children get in touch with their creative side in a unique and fun way.
Mini Monet Creative Studio and Art Club is for fun app for kids 6 to 8 years of age. When you first open the app you will see a short description of all the different, and fun artistic options the app provides your kids to get creative with while using the app. If you wish to view them later you can easily do so by touching the “I” button located in the top right of the screen.
Mini Monet Creative Studio and Art Club allows children to:
Children can draw free hand using pencils, markers and paintbrush.
- Brushes, Pencils, Paint Bucket, and Markers
- Color and Draw with colors, patterns, and even have fun with glitter.
- Create custom stickers that can be saved in their little creative art book.
- Have fun decorating stamps and stickers.
- Enjoy over 100 categorized cooling pages!
Your child will have access to the Art Studio’s Magic Pencil which helps them stay in the lines. The unique Magic Pencil, when kids draw with the magic pencil, it keeps brush strokes, and marker and paint bucket from spilling out. When your child draws a picture of a kitty cat and chooses a brush as their coloring tool, the brush color will not spread out of the circle, which helps kids color neatly and helps inspire creativity.
This is super cool, kids can enjoy challenges to help keep them engaged and using their creative skills.
- Challenges for appropriate ages, and full of surprises
- TWO new stickers with every challenge.
Everyone loves to get rewarded for their hard work. Children get coins for coloring, sharing, and appreciating others work. They can use the coins to unlock more pages to color.
No Art Studio would be complete without access to an Art Store right!?! Good news, kids get rewarded with virtual coins that can be used to get bonus content from the Art Store.
Yes, there is even an art club that is powered by the creations of the little artists. This is a safe place for children to share their art with others, and get inspired by seeing others fabulous work.
My personal favorite – Parental Controls!
I allow my kids to use apps, but they wouldn’t without parental controls. This is a secure place for parents to adjust the sharing and settings of the app. Parental controls help leave parents in controls what their children are doing while suing the app. In my opinion, no app or phone is complete without parental control.
I have enjoyed using Mini Monet myself, and my children have had a blast using it too, but this app has really hit home with Vayda who is 7 and love art. What I like is it has encouraged her to draw, color, and paint more while not using the app. I was honestly worried she would stop once she started using the app, and in that case I honestly would have deleted it. Sure apps are great, but in moderation, and they will never replace actually using your hands. Luckily it’s encouraged her to try more offline, and be more creative on her own time too. Which if you knew Vayda she really doesn’t need much help in the creative department. The other kids enjoy it, but Vayda is old enough to understand it.
I always use educational apps before I allow my kids to play with them. There are too many out there that claim to be educational, that are in no way so. I will admit I had fun using the apps too, but it’s also easy to navigate, and their choice of colors is great.
I was pleasantly surprised with Mini Monet: Creative Studio and Art Club for Kids. It’s a great educational app for kids who are interested in art. When I asked Vayda what she thought of the app she said, “It’s my favorite app. #1 MOM!” Which is great coming from Vayda, she is always the one who can think of something that cannot be done. She is a great out of the box thinker.
Today Sprite Kids also released their LITE version of the app, which is FREE be sure to head on over and grab it! The little artist in your house will love it, and it might even inspire the little artist in your child. It’s a great app. Grab Mini Monet LITE version FREE by visiting iTunes.
