WOW, can you believe it! November is already here. That means today is the first day of NaBloPoMo! Let’s get started blogging, welcome to November’s NaBloPoMo on Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog, we hope you have has much fun as we do. Happy Birthday to NaBloPoMo, now let’s get this blogging party started. This blogging party will last an entire month
The theme for NaBloPoMo is blogging for blogging’s sake. There’s several hundred bloggers signed up, and more to come I’m sure. If you visit the blogroll for this event, Jenn’s Blah Blah Blog is number 383. There’s so far a total of 572 blogger signed up, and you can still join until November 5th at 11:00pm EST.
This month if you’re part of NaBloPoMo there’s prizes for participants who blog daily, submit posts daily, as well as daily prompts lined up for Monday thru Friday. You’re not required to use the prompts, it’s helpful if you’re searching for a reason to put your fingers to the keyboard and blog, blog, blog! BlogHer will also be featuring member posts, and doing a roundup of posts from blogs on a weekly basis.
Okay so for those of you who are wondering what in the world I am talking about. NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month, and it’s a month-long blogging exercise. The very first series of NaBloPoMo started in November of 2006.
The purpose behind this program is to help motivate and challenge bloggers to produce posts on their blogs daily. There’s many of us out there who blog daily. Who doesn’t love a good challenge? It’s not only an awesome way to motivate, but a wonderful way to take a step back from your bad habits. It’s a chance to start fresh, and retain yourself to work effectively. I’m guilty of it, running into something else that I want to do, rather than putting my fingers to the keyboard and taking care of what needs to be done.
I’m not doing this for the prizes, I like the challenge, but that’s still not the reason. I’m pretty good about posting something up on my blog daily. Many of you know, I have 4 blogs. Not all of them require daily posting. However, two of them are ones that I started with the intention of posting daily.
I’ve caught myself slipping into bad habits, it’s been almost a year and I can honestly say I’ve missed very few days of posting something on my blog, but who wants’ to just toss something up, and call it your daily post. Not me, and I’ve caught myself searching for an awesome deal to post for my daily post. HUMMMM, pretty sure taking the time to write something is much more beneficial to everyone. So to cut it short, I want to take a step back, before I get into bad habits. My goal is to get into a habit of posting a quality post daily.
Since I have four blogs, a full-time job, four children, and a fabulous husband, it’s going to require pre-planning. This has always been my weakness, I’m more of a fly by the seat of my pants girl. My goal is to work smarter not harder, by working a head so if I need to take the day off, I don’t feel like I need to run out and grab something to toss-up on the blog, or posting nothing at all.
I plan on adding to my Blogging 101 category, and helping others learn a few ways to work smarter than harder. Now, not every post will be a tip for my blog smarter not harder series, but I will update you often, and share what I have learned.
It’s not to late for all you amazing bloggers out there to sign up. If you’re interested in joining NaBloPoMo this November you can visit BlogHer’s sign up form. The Blogroll will be open until 11pm EST on November 5th, 2012. Come on and join the fun, if anything it will be a lot of new fresh content for you blog!
