“I have been compensated for this post in the form of a product. All opinions are mine and mine alone. This post is sponsored by PBS Distribution.”
PBS Kids through their Distribution division brings high quality children shows to consumers and educators physically and for digital download. PBS Kids is my go to channel for my kids because I know they will be learning while watching something that is entertaining to them at their young age, I can always count on transparency from their shows. PBS Kids has shows are geared for small children and pre-teens. My sons all time favorite from PBS Kids is Dinosaur Train and he was overjoyed to hear they released a new DVD on June 12th 2018 in partnership with The Henson Company, which has brought other great shows like Word Party and Side the Science Kid.
The Dinosaur Train series is one that is full of educational material for children ages 2 to 6. I love that my son always has new dinosaur or dinosaur era creatures to name after watching this show. I love that they have fun characters and a cute family composed of a T-Rex with Pterodactyl parents, brothers and sisters. Dinosaur Train not only explores the scientific method with Buddy stating his hypothesis and experimenting but also comparing dinosaurs and their counterparts in our current time. This show is fun for small children because of the joyous characters and quirky personalities like that of the Conductor and information is presented in a way that is easy for them to understand.
We recently received the “Dinosaur Train: Meeting New Friends” that released on June 12th, 2018. My son was so ecstatic to receive this DVD as Buddy is his favorite character from all the PBS shows and with summer around I let them watch just a teeny bit more TV. The DVD spans almost 90 minutes, with 8 great episodes. Their favorite episode was the one with the twin brother Dilophosaurus’. Unlike Buddy and Tiny who play together the Dilophosaurus fight constantly and hunt poorly until Tiny and Buddy show them how to work together. My daughter’s favorite episode was the one with the Stegosaurus, perhaps because it is so hot currently that she could relate. It was great how they explained how the plates helped them keep cool and at the end made plans to jump in the pond.
