I love to travel. I don’t get to do it as much as I would like, but then, who does? If you are a CNN reporter or a full-time travel writer then feel free to ignore that question, it was kind of rhetorical. Where I live we are fortunate enough to have several amusement parks within reasonable driving distance of us and I love to take my little one to them. One is right here in Cincinnati, but within one day’s driving there are several more, Cleveland, Chicago, St. Louis and Baltimore are all within easy driving distance. But if I am going to take my little family on a trip to an amusement park, I want to be prepared. Comfortable clothes, a lightweight backpack with water (sometimes they let you take them in, sometimes they don’t) and my camera.
The camera is an important component to have on an adventure like this. In case you didn’t know, roller coasters go very fast. That’s kind of what makes them fun. Now if your little one is a really little one, they’re only going on the kiddie rides, and any old camera will do. But if your little ones are getting a little less little, the good coasters go fast, and you need a camera that can capture them in action. You need a quality camera, like the Olympus® OM-D E-M5 Mark II.
Yes, it’s a mouthful, but this is one seriously sweet camera. For one thing, the camera body is lightweight and weatherproof. Both of these are real bonuses when you are carrying a camera around all day in all kinds of weather. No, it doesn’t mean you can toss it in the pool and take underwater pictures, but it does mean that you don’t need to go running for cover if a pop-up shower starts to sprinkle while you’re in the middle of taking some pictures. And how many times have you needed to hold a camera up high to get a picture over someone’s head? Don’t laugh, I’m short. With a normal camera you either find a perch to scramble up on or you hold the camera up over your head, point the camera in the general direction and hope. With the Mark II’s Fully Articulating Touch screen you can unfold it and actually see what you are taking a picture of.
And now Olympus is running a special deal. With Olympus Takes You There Olympus is offering free air travel with the purchase of an OM-D E-5 Mark II camera. Let’s see, buy an awesome camera get a free flight…Can you say Grand Canyon? Bucket List here I come. Where would you go?
