Randomly Honest Reasons I Love Being Mom

If there is one thing about my life I love, it’s mom to my children.  I seriously dread the day they are all grown up because I love everything about being mom – successes, watching my kids grow, seeing them learn, helping them along the way, the particular moments, plays at school, cute songs they make up for me on mother’s day, and the horrible coffee they meet me in my room with almost ever weekend.  Yes, it’s awful, but I drink it because my kids make it for me, and it comes from the heart.  Those are the gifts I cherish most.  Plus, I’ll always remember those weekend mornings, memories are priceless, and I’ll always remember that horrible coffee and their sweet little faces just wanted to see mom happy.

Randomly Honest Reasons I Love Being Mom

I’m sure you know all the mommy reasons I love doing things for my kids, seeing them smile, learn and grow.  There are so many emotions involved with being a mom, I u but what about a few of the totally random but honey reasons I “love” being the mom.  Oh yes, I was thinking about all of the random reasons I love being the mom and there is a lot and here are a few that comes to mind first.

• My kids made me stop and smell the roses – I didn’t have Mattie until I was 29, it was time to stop and smell the roses and grow up a tad.

• I like me more now – The moment I looked at her little face in the hospital I knew my life was going to be different.  When I walked out of the hospital, I knew I was a different person.  Well, it turns out I like this person a whole lot more.  I’m more reliable, patient with people, loving, caring, open, and a whole lot less shy.

• I know how to get rid of my bad days – Yes, if I ever need a smile I just hang out with my kids.  It doesn’t take long, and I’ve forgotten why I was upset.  Nobody can make my day go from blah to great except my children.

• It’s totally okay to act a fool whenever and wherever I feel the edge – Now that I have kids I can totally get away with acting like food in the grocery store.  Being a grown up and hanging out with kids most of the time tends to make one a little cray cray so having fun and letting you grown up child side come out tot play is not only fun it’s entirely acceptable.

• I now understand that I am not the most important person in the world – I used to be selfish, but I do know now that I am not the most important person in the world, my kids are!

• OMG, the funny things kids say – Never trust a fart, don’t fart in a wetsuit, gosh there are so many crazy off the wall things my kids have said.  To this day, I laugh when I think about it.  However, I don’t tell them because they are so serious when they say these things, lol.  I’ll save it in my OMG I’m going to embarrass you if you ever get a boyfriend file lol.

• I cook healthier – Sure I want to be healthy, but nothing is more important to me than my children.  If anything is motivation to cook healthier meals and eat out less, it’s my kids and their health and well-being.

• I have the BEST cuddle buddies, and they never get sick of cuddling – I love to cuddle, and sure my husband cuddles with me, but he can’t keep up with me in the cuddling department.  However, my kids are always down for some cuddle time with mom!

• Messing with my kids while they sleep, because I’m the mom they never guess it was me that put that mustache on their face with terminate marker – I know this sounds mean, but it’s true I did draw a mustache on my daughters face with a terminate maker.  Want to know what else, I’ve done it more than once and never fessed up to it lol.  They asked dad if he did it but never asked mom lol.  It is amazing how hard my kids sleep.  According to my mom and other family members I was the same way and yes I am 99% sure they messed with me in my sleep.  If they didn’t, they missed out.

• OMG, you are late!  Wait you have kids, it’s okay nobody thought you would be there on time – Another great thing about kids is that being late often comes with the job.  Kids might decide they are going to hide from you under the bed because they don’t want their hair brushed and you’re not four so yo can’t fit.  You have to spend 30 minutes begging and trying to bribe your child to come out, but you can’t be mean because they might just decide to take a nap under there lol.  Yes, this has been why I have been late more than once or was it?  Nobody will ever know but me and Mattie lol.

• I have a big head because of my children are the coolest of the cool and rock awesomeness like no other – My kids are freaking awesome, so smart, talented, kind, loving, and I always get compliments from people who are around my kids.  They are well behaved, use sir and mam, are polite, don’t talk back, and they are just the best kids in the whole world, and they are all mine!  I’m so very proud of my children!

• Children can make a potential disagreement go bye bye – Ever have a conversation with your partner and you know it’s fixing to get a little heated?  You can’t just walk away without upsetting someone, but you can say, “Oh, wait for baby.  I think I hear Mattie calling me.” BAM, and it’s over just like that there will be no disagreement tonight!

• I love being mom because my kids do not let me forget every Disney movie, which I almost have memorized – Just when I totally forgot about Lady and the Tramp, BAM you reminded me why it used to be my favorite movie – over and over and over and over and over, and I’m sure we will be watching it again tomorrow.  I don’t know that I will ever forget the movie; I know it almost word for word.  They still even remind me about all the some of the hidden secrets in Disney’s Frozen either lol. 

• I often smell like a little kid again – now and then I will run out of shampoo.  Rather than going to the store before I take a shower I’ll just use the kids shampoo, soap, and from time to time I’ll even use their bubble gum scented bubbles lol.  My husband always giggles when he comes home from work, and I am rocking the bubble gum scent lol.

• My kids are more creative than me, but I’m working on it – My kids make me want to become more crafty and creative!  They are all into art, music, crafts, and DIYing.  If I want to keep up with them, I have to step up my game in the crafty and creative department which takes work.  I’m getting there I don’t think they have noticed they are doing all the work yet lol.

• Gosh, they just make me glow because they can and will do anything they want to – Recently Vayda has really but her nose to the ground and has been taking care of business, and it makes me so proud to see her discipline herself so she can focus on school.  She has started to grow up, and I am so proud of my little Vayda!  Then there is Catie, who is basically on the A & B honor roll, she went to school this year and decided she was going to kick booty and well she is doing just that!  So proud of my children, they are all good at identifying a problem and taking the necessary steps to move in the right direction, and they do it for themselves!

• I can just blame the kids and yes I do at times – Oh come on you have gone to a party or something and just wanted to leave right?  Well if you are a parent remember you can play the I have to leave because of the kids card and nobody gets their feelings hurt or anything.  It’s magical lol.
