Gosh, it seems like yesterday all my kids still needed training wheels on their bikes.  Where does the time go, when did they learn to ride a bike so well lol?  I mean I’m glad they are getting older because now they can enjoy riding their bikes more but I miss them being younger and needing me and their training wheels.

Reasons Kids Should Learn To Ride a Bike

Here are a few great reasons to get your kids a bike so they can start learning as soon as possible.

Riding a bike is just fun

You remember being a kid right?  If you’re like me riding your bike is a big part of your childhood.  You probably went bike riding with your friends and siblings and had a whole lot of fun.

Memories you’ll carry forever

Yes, all those fun times you remember riding your bike as a child are great memories.  Your child can have those great memories they will carry with them forever too.

Physical activity

Riding a bike is a great way to keep your kids out and about doing something that keeps them physically active, especially during the summer months.

Happiness

We all know physical activity makes a person happier, which is true for children too.

Learning

Riding a bike is not only great for your kids physically but it is also beneficial to your child’s mental health.

Social connections

Kids are more likely to meet other children and make social connections if they are out riding their bike.

Mattie has been growing like a weed this year so I got her a brand new Schwinn SmartStart bike at Toys”R” pourchUs from Toys R’ Us!  She was thrilled to come home and see the box sitting oporch.  Somehow she knew it was for her, I’m guessing the fun colors of the picture on the packaging.

Reasons Kids Should Learn To Ride A BikeBefore I knew it Mattie had ripped open the box and was ready to start riding.  I don’t think she realized she had to put it together until we got the box open, but she played it cool.  She was so excited that she didn’t even change out of her school clothes or wait for me to help her put it together.

The Schwinn SmartStart is the fasted way for kids to have fun and it’s the first bike that fits a child’s proportions!  Pretty cool right?  It’s great for helping them build confidence and smaller riders get better control thanks to the grips for smaller hands, a comfy seat that is designed for a child’s proportions, and they can also pedal better thanks to the pedal and seat positions for improved leverage when pedaling.

She might not need me to follow her everywhere likes she used to but there is still fun things we can do together like play Schwinn SmartStart Bike Trip Bingo using these Bingo Cards from Schwinn.  We had a lot of fun on our outing together.  She rode, and I walked.  Naturally, she showed me how much faster she was the whole time and I got in a great workout trying to keep up, lol.
