We only have one Mother Earth. Collectively we should be taking better care of her. Well, now with the not-so-fun task of laundry we can be friendly to Earth and live Green at the same time. I’d like to introduce to you Rockin’ Green Laundry Detergent. Rockin’ Green was very nice and sent me samples of their Hard Rock Remix to try.
Rockin’ Green manufactures eco-friendly cleaning products. Their products are award-winning too. Rockin’ Green’s primary line of laundry detergents come in the Soft, Classic, and Hard Rock varieties. They are designed to be used on all fabrics and are known for being quite helpful with cleaning the dirtiest of cloth diapers. Soft Rock is for people with soft water, while Classic is for those with normal water, and yes, you guessed it, Hard Rock is for us hard water people.
The scents I received in my Hard Rock Remix are Lavender Mint Revival, Smashing Watermelons, Bare Naked Babies!, and Motley Clean. I don’t think I have ever been excited to do laundry, but I actually was looking forward to trying Rockin’ Green’s Laundry Detergent. The names alone of the scents made me smile. I found Lavender Mint Revival to be a great combo of lavender and mint, just as the label said. I normally don’t care for lavender, but mixed with the mint, I found the lavender to be subtle and relaxing, the mint bright and cheery. This is a great combo.
Smashing Watermelons, to me is light, fresh, and fruity. I was taken to a late spring picnic; yes late spring…I had to wait for the snow to melt. Think of the smell of a freshly cut watermelon sitting out waiting to eaten. Yum! This smelled really good.
Both Lavender Mint Revival and Smashing Watermelons are dye free, naturally scented and biodegradable. There are no fillers or enzymes, no optical brighteners, and both are 100% phosphate free. Also, they along with all of Rockin’ Green’s products are proudly “Made in the USA!!!”
Bare Naked Babies! is unscented. I would add that Bare Naked Babies! is perfect for the little ones and those with sensitivities.
Motley Clean is just that, clean. While it is not scentless and I wouldn’t say it has the fresh linen smell, it does have a very clean smell. I also picked up a faint hint of citrus. I really liked Motley Clean because of its clean smell. I wish I could better describe what clean smells like, but I’m going to say this really is one I would highly recommend, especially for those who like the smell of clean.
Rockin’ Green Laundry Detergents are safe for top-loading and HE washers. The samples I received were marked 2/4, which means that for a top-loading washer each 2 oz. sample would do two loads of laundry. While for an HE washer, there is enough detergent for four loads. The same philosophy applies to their normal size bags of 45/90, 45 loads for a top-loader and 90 loads for an HE.
Soft Rock is available in the Bare Naked Babies! scent only. Both Classic Rock and Hard Rock are available in all four scents. Rockin’ Green also offers a dishwasher detergent, a dog bed/toy detergent, and an ammonia fighter. They also have Femme Rock, which is enzyme based to help women using cloth pads fight off the toughest of stains. Rockin’ Green really has taken living green into high consideration and provided us with excellent detergent that not only takes care of our clothing, but in really getting out the stinky stains from cloth diapers and cloth feminine pads, Rockin’ Green helps us to be more green by being able to use these cloth products if we choose to.
I invite you to take a look around their website at http://rockingreensoap.com/. You can also check out their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/rockingreensoap. Rockin’ Green soap has generously offered to giveaway to one of our readers a 45/90 load bag of laundry detergent in the winner’s choice of formula and scent. Please look for the giveaway soon.

the hours are getting shorter for one of us to be able to try this awesome products
Good luck everyone! Rockin’ Green is great, definitely worth trying.
I hate laundry day but I love clean fresh clothes. I’d love to replace all of my bottles with packets.
These days anything that saves some money and works is okay. I love the compact size.
am amazed at the scents these come in – would love to check them out
I’ve been looking for a good “green” detergent to try out. Its nice to know they have so many other product options too. I love the small amounts needed per load!!
I have heard great things about this detergent and would love to have some for my granddaughters cloth diapers.
Thank you for the review. I’d love to try the lavender-mint and the dog pet bed/toy cleaner.
Thanks for your comments Rhonda. I’m interested in Dog House Rock too. Toby’s toys and bed definitely need washing too and while they’ve been washed before, I like that Rockin’ Green offers detergent formulated just for items like a stinky dog bed. Please let us know if you end up trying Rockin’ Green out and what you think.
All of the scents sound good. Especially watermelon. I don’t know that my husband would want to go to work smelling like a fruit though.
Hehehe Lisa. I could see how that would be a concern. I found the scents to be light and refreshing. When I used Rockin’ Green for my laundry, the scent carryover to my clothing I found was minimal. I liked it.
I heard so many great things about this detergent. I heard its great on cloth diapers
this reminds me of coffee beans
Thanks for the review. I have not heard of this company but I really am interested after reading your review. I would love to try the Hard Rock in the Smashing Watermelons scent. I would never get tired of smelling watermelons. I like that this company makes detergent especially for hard water – and my water is hard.
I’m really looking forward to trying this product out,
We love Rockin Green!! I love that the detergent is dye free, naturally scented, and biodegradable.. that makes me feel good about washing my daughters cloth diapers with it! 🙂
Thanks so much for your great comments Ashley! We love hearing from our readers and especially when they use the products that we review. Please let us know if there’s anything out there in our big world that you’d like to learn more about. We’ll do our best to bring that review to you. Thanks for being a great reader.
I have been making my own laundry detergent for a little over a year now, just 3 ingredients & has cleaned my clothes and left them smelling clean (no extra scent) though I have to admit that my hard water gets the best of my whites 🙁 After reading your review I am interested in what the Hard Rock would do for my whites, have you noticed any difference in your whites? Are they less “yellow” after using Hard Rock? Thank you for your review 😀
Lettie, I’m sorry I can’t comment much to noticing a different specifically on whites alone. Oddly enough I don’t have much laundry that falls into the category of just white. I primarily do my wash as lights and darks. I can tell you that I found Rockin’ Green’s Hard Rock laundry detergent did an excellent job of cleaning my clothes. Any stains my clothes had, Hard Rock took care of and got the stains out. To me, my clothes came out exceptionally clean, very fresh smelling, and also soft. I don’t like when you wash your clothes and what you get back is a cardboard version of what you initially started with. My suggestion Lettie would be to give Rockin’ Green a try. I bet you’ll find a new laundry detergent, if for nothing else than your whites. Hard water is nasty. Rockin’ Green is doing their part to make it better for us.
Thank you for your insight Jeni, great review by the way 🙂
Thanks Lettie. We love being able to bring you these reviews. Please let us know if there are any products you would like to have us review.
This sounds like a great product and company. Anything that makes laundry day easier is okay.
Looks great!! I would love to try it!!
Thank you for your review. I love how this stuff is safe for HE washers too. I would love to try this. I am new at going green.
Congrats on going green Linda. Rockin’ Green would be a great addition to your steps toward green living. Please let us know what you think of it.
This awesome laundry detergent would be good to use in anyone’s washing machine!
We love Rockin Green!! We have only used the Bare Naked Babies in Soft Rock… on our cloth diapers! The other options sounds like they would smell great! Thanks for the review!
i would love to try this laundry soap i like how it’s eco friendly
The different scent names are really nice. Thanks for the awesome review. I am going to try to win the giveaway so I can try this soap out. It sounds like it would be really good. Crossing my fingers
Great review; very thorough. What a novel idea to make detergent for different types of water hardness. I think you would get a more effective cleaning product by formulating it that way. The scents have really clever names too! I would love to try the watermelon fragrance.
Melissa, being able to work with Rockin’ Green and their laundry detergent on this review taught me about the importance of having the right detergent for your water. It isn’t something I had thought about before. Now it makes perfect sense. If your water is one type, there is a certain way it will work with detergents to clean, or in some cases not clean your clothing. Rockin’ Green is very aware of this and so they created their laundry detergents to be available for whatever type of water you have. Let us know if you check them out. Smashing Watermelons is a great scent. It’s fun. I did feel like I was at a summer picnic surrounded by watermelons and yet the scent wasn’t overwhelming.
I like the way the laundry detergent comes in different water combinations like soft and hard water and regular. I also like the scents, particularly the watermelon. I would love to try that one. If they washed as good as they sound, they sound like a winner to me. Thanks for the great review! 🙂
How nice it would be to replace the ten or so bottles of laundry soap .They take up too much room.
Motley Clean what a funny name but this sounds like a great product that ?I would love to try with my family
Laurie, I love the names too. Motley Clean was great. If clean is what you want, then Motley Clean is the version you want to use. Wow! This has the cleanest, freshest scent I’ve ever smelled. As I said in the review, I wish I could describe what clean smells like better. I love that Rockin’ Green is so eco-friendly!
I would like to try the fruity scents, again, they sound good enough to eat. This is an awesome product, I wanna try it.
I love that it can be used in reg and HE washers both!
I WOULD LOVE TO TRY THE HARD ROCK VARIETY IT SOUNDS LIKE A WONDERFUL PRODUCT. I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF IT SO I ASSUME IT IS NEW. THANKS FOR SHARING!!!!
i wanna try thatsmashing watermellons one! I lovve the smell of watermellon and this is a wonderful product. My friend buys this from a specialty store for cloth diapers and now i can see why. I would love to try it out!
I;m glad that this green product is also unscented!
I love that its organiz and I use this for my sons clothes.
Thank you for the awesome review. It helps me to decide which green products are worth a try and which are not.
It’s so cool, that there are so many green products out there any more, makes you wonder why it took so long for this to be possible, I have to be so careful with scents and especially with cleaning supplies
These sound great especially the Lavender Mint which I am prone to over ysing lavender here. It would be great to get the scent in the clothese while being washied and not have to rely on fabric softener sheets which are expensive and not very green. I am glad tht you bloggers do what you do as I learn new things daily and like others I have never heard of this product. Go Green Go Earth..
wow, i would love to try – what a cleaver idea
thanks for the review-great to nkow that they are biodegradable
I think I’d probably choose the Motley Clean as I don’t want my laundry to smell like watermelons. Mostly, I’m impressed that going green doesn’t mean I have to eliminate smelling nice from my laundry. When I take my clothes out of the washer & dryer, I want to smell something nice!
I really liked these scents Georgia. They were all fresh and light, even Smashing Watermelons. I understand what you’re saying though. We want clean clothes and what they smell like coming out of the washer and dryer is important. You’d love Motley Clean. As I said in the review, I wish I could describe what clean smells like better. I love that Rockin’ Green is such a green product too!
I like that it is eco-friendly – also, like all the names.
Lavender mint hard rock is what I would love to try! Thanks for a great review!
the smashing watermelon sounds like it would be great. i love using green products. the bare naked babies would be great for my son who has very sensitive skin.
You are great with words!! Very good review! 🙂

I have really been wanting to try Rockin’ Green laundry detergent for a while now. I only use non-toxic, natural cleaners in my home. I use cloth diapers, so I need detergent that won’t leave residue.
Krystal, Rockin’ Green will be perfect for you and your cloth diapers. Don’t forget to sign up for the giveaway. Good luck!
I want to try this! Thanks for the great information!
I happen to love laundry,! so this product appeals to me on so many levels. I like the eco friendliness and the fact that a product was designed for hard water like mine. Also I love the scent of lavender so that is the first one I would try!
sounds great, I would love to try this laundry soap, especially the Lavender Mint, sounds good enough to eat.
This looks great! I’m really concerned with my impact on the environment! I’d love to try it!
I’d never heard of this before. I always try to use earth friendly products. Have for years,so I’ll check it out. Thanks.
We received the Rockin’ Green detergent in my Eco-Emi box. Talk about amazing stuff! Literally smelled like I smashed watermelons in the washer!
I love the names of the different scents. We have normal water here in Baltimore maryland, I think!! LOL
Smashing Watermelons? I would love my laundry to smell like that…sounds wonderful
Smashing Watermelons…makes you WANT to do your laundry doesn’t it? Like I said in the review, I don’t recall when I’ve ever been excited to do laundry, but I definitely was with Rockin’Green. Actually with each sample that I opened I got more and more excited. This really is a great product. I know you’d just love it!

Those names make laundry sound like fun, just so you can see what it will smell like. I cannot carry anything heavy, so I use Tide pods, they are quite handy. But, I will definitely be watching for this giveaway. Vicki
I am always looking for ‘green’ products and to eliminate chemicals from my home. Thank you for bringing this product to my attention.
